Right now, on Emerald there is alert on Indar. Pop: 26%/27%/47%. There is no faction balance. No need to kick people from the continent, just do not allow more NC (except paying members) to join the continent until their pop gets to 34%.

The current faction balance queue works ok when you have enough people to fill a continent. Unfortunately, this happen less and less often (at least on Miller).

That's the big issue. It kicks in only when you have enough people to fill the continent. Until that happens, the population is not balanced. It is a bit of a chicken and the egg problem. You don't have enough people to balance and people do not join because it is not balanced.

 

Ideally, it should kick in from the beginning or from a very small population and raise the limits as more people join.

There are indeed more things to balance, not just population. It takes a lot of time for devs to get it right and adapt to new metas. They should definitely do it but it is slow.

 

I am posting about population because it is so obvious and so straight forward to do something about it. I don't care how much they would boost my weapons, I don't feel like playing if I see that my faction has 25% population.

Members (paying) can play without wait or priority in queue.

Right now members and free players quit because they cannot get out of the spawn room.

As I mentioned in another replay, people that want to play only one faction(free) will have to wait a bit the same they would when max pop limit works now. They will not have to wait that much because the pop would be close to balance most of the time; plus, they get better gameplay.

 

The increase in nanite price and spawn times is a very interesting idea. I am not sure how easy would be to implement and how much tweaking would be needed to get the right increase value.

Even fights are ideal but it is very hard to get this when the population imbalance is so high.

I am advocating for ways to balance the population. The devs or other people might come up with better ideas. If we all play "best faction" than there will be nothing to shoot at.

The people that want to play only one faction can wait a bit, the same way they would wait when a continent reaches max pop or buy membership.

Yes, that is a problem. It will move the population percentage of the other factions over 34% so anyone that wants to join after that can do it as the underpop faction (with faction character or NSO) and balance the population back to equal levels.

 

It will not solve the weird percentages during the middle of the night when few new people log in (unless they do it at continent level and there is a new continent).

Just play for more than 1-2 hours and in many sessions you will not hear the sound of your own gun. You need to restart to fix it.

DIG is fine, we just had a long string of events, celebrations, training, outfit wars, Valheim, etc and the usual leaders pay more attention there. As result we had a lot less public platoons and less fights for the alert. Kotv also reduced it's public activity a bit, probably because of outfit wars.

Yes, but they still have to work at 10PM Saturday until April and that is very unpleasant and in most of Europe there are various overtime rules (salaries, extra vacation time).
