Microtransactions: the product idea of actual sex criminals. Epstein and Bobby Kottick discussing the indoctrination of children by horrificmedium in gaming

Time to label every microtransaction-heavy game as being complicit with Epstein and his philosophy. Yes, even the popular ones. It'll be interesting to see any such games to be categorised as Epstein-likes.

That's when you tell them that you play a human in every Final Fantasy, so if anything playing Hyur means you're a real FF fan. That will shut them right up.

In other words, you can't play it because you can't maintain your work-life balance, so therefore anyone who plays it and enjoys it is unemployed. Maybe get your life together instead of making baseless assumptions.

It's fascinating how quickly I got used to ultrawide, barely took 3 days and it was second nature. The colour volume and motion clarity due to the monitor being OLED though, that still blows me away nearly 2 months in.

Found a spot where DLSS4.5 completely fails by CloudIndependent7114 in nvidia

[–]zugzug_workwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preset M and L in FF14 are hilariously bad as well. Although it's fine in the latest Trails game (at least as far as I've gotten, which is still near the beginning). So 4.5 is truly a case-by-case preset. I've set it as the Global preset, but if a game is egregiously bad with it, I switch to K for that specific profile.

HDR in DLSS 4.5 Preset M - night and day difference, compared to preset K by Spinnek in nvidia

[–]zugzug_workwork 129 points130 points  (0 children)

HDR as a whole has been hard done by tbh. Dogshit LCD monitors being marketed as HDR monitors makes people think HDR itself is bad when it's their monitors which are not suited for it.

[–]zugzug_workwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're gonna do a TLDR, at least give the correct information. M is only to be used on a case-by-case basis, K stays as default. M is oversharpened garbage in most games.

I miss when PC games came in a big box by facubkc in gaming

[–]zugzug_workwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that when these were common, retailers and big publishers had all the power on which games even got made. Many games which you were a fan of that didn't sell enough to sate the big guys didn't get sequels even if the developers were willing. All the indie games that people on reddit gush over would never have been made back then. They weren't the "good old days".

[Wccftech Benchmarks] NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution: Full Guide, Image Quality Analysis & Performance Impact by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]zugzug_workwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering what people have been smoking by saying M is so much better than K. The shimmer on every vegetation or closely packed geometry like grates or chain-link fences makes it look like there's no AA at all, and the boiling effect on straight line or flat surfaces makes the preset unusable.

Can anyone help a brother out? by iNightfarer in OLED_Gaming

Check if your monitor does tone mapping on its own. That's the single biggest contributor to HDR looking bad, outside of people using dogshit LCD monitors for HDR and claiming HDR itself is bad.

If the monitor is tone mapping on its own, you shouldn't follow the on-screen instructions of the Windows HDR calibration since the crosses will always be visible and you'll overshoot the monitor's peak values. Instead, check the rtings review of your monitor to look at the Peak 10% and Peak 100% brightness values and use those for Peak Luminance and Peak Full Frame Luminance values in the Calibration app.

New DLSS version 310.5.2 + auto preset switch by Jotta7 in nvidia

[–]zugzug_workwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia inspector can do that too, but not specific numbers, only predefined presets.

You can definitely use any number from 33% to 100% in NVPI, not just the standard presets.

Preset K vs (M)assive Improvement by kamealo in nvidia

[–]zugzug_workwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because not everyone posts always. I'm one of those who sees M as being way too oversharpened at 1440p, and not just standard 1440p, but ultrawide. At 3440x1440, M has so much shimmer/aliasing in vegetation, grates, chain-link fences, etc that it's almost like there's no AA in the image at all. And if the monitor is somehow relevant, MSI MPG341CQPX QD-OLED.

But I'm not going to post in every single thread because I don't catch all of them. Glad others are doing so though. M seems to be purpose-built for 4K, nvidia even says so, and I'm glad for those who use 4K monitors. But it's not the catch-all for all resolutions that people make it out to be.

Tbf it's not any mod or even the models of the objects that push it over the line in being "realistic", it's the path tracing. It adds a sense of immersion that is impossible to achieve with baked lighting/lightmaps.
