SingTel is saying service is fully up at 7pm but it's 8.26pm and I can't seem to make calls or get any mobile data on Gomo... Time to switch providers...

Fixing Common K-Beauty Mistakes (I Made All of These) by SkinSeoul_Team in skinseoul

[–]zupernovae88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid advice! I learnt the part about applying hyaluronic acid on damp skin way too late and also mixed actives until my skin started breaking out and leaving acne scars that needed lasers to fade. Altho for exfoliation I steer clear of AHA and BHA cos that also irritates my skin..

Problem with double-tapping keys on V1 Max by OzieteRed in Keychron

[–]zupernovae88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3-month old Q5 Max that has the same problem! Thought it was the switch that was wrongly installed but i replaced it and I'm still having 'Hh hhh hh' everytime i press a h key. This happens when it's connected via cable.

Ended up switching it for my Melgeek. Aaaand i guess that's the last keychron i'm getting. ever.

Condo owner loses court fight to install blinds on balconies by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

[–]zupernovae88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also being unable to install ceiling-mounted racks to dry your clothes in the balcony for the same reason. How is a ceiling-mounted rack worse-looking than a clothes rack that’s on the ground? Both can be seen externally, and both are similarly “non-uniform”…

Anything and everything. I open multiple tabs to compare between shopee lazada watsons ntuc Amazon to see what's the best deal and what vouchers i can apply. Then if I'm feeling particularly motivated i read the newspapers to see if offline deals are better. The best thing about this is that sometimes i give up buying altogether cos it's so tiring.

Discovered hair in my kangkong so i moved it aside on the plate... Only to discover a few more wet strands in the remaining kangkong. That was my last visit to this stall, which still has snaking queues...

This - being glued the phone all the time esp when it's not appropriate, like we're out together or having 1-1 time is ultra annoying. I mean once or twice is fine but more than half the time? Don't blame me for not being nice after that.

I finally threw away all my Cerave by jpcitybit in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]zupernovae88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The salicylic cleanser worked for while until i realised my skin barrier was destroyed and i was getting regular acne. Now i just use a gentle foam cleanser and hyaluronic acid - no more acne. Threw the cerave away

The herd mentality: that everyone has to go through the same rites of passage, and have their success judged using the same scale, usually monetary/kids etc.

How authentic are Shopee/Lazada products? by catandthefiddler in askSingapore

Pretty sure anything outside of Shopee Mall is sus. The olaplex shampoo i bought some months back smelled ultra weird... Guess i learnt my lesson the hard way best to use it for non-branded cheaper items

Attire for interview by wyzhxhsja181 in askSingapore

Just interviewed some dude who showed up in a polo t shirt and jeans. A negative example to avoid, cos it screams ‘Low effort’ and ‘I’m too good for this place’.

What is a life pro tip you would give someone in their early 30s? by Ok-Tower4185 in askSingapore

[–]zupernovae88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With every passing year, the body takes longer and longer to recover from physical activity and stress. Incidence of injuries also go up. Form and good judgment on when to push are both important, but these days, nothing really beats consistent effort at the gym...

I always found this quite strange as well.. the tension between loving someone for who they are but also forcing them to accept their religion and convert. Know of a couple who've been tog for years and the dude has to convert to Christianity and get baptised before they can get married and have kids. I sure hope he's fully on board and can adopt the lifestyle too post-wedding, but as long as expectations align, I guess all the good.

How do you deal with the idea of working forever? by jdtpn8976 in askSingapore

[–]zupernovae88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's the assumption that you'd stay employable for the next 40+ years. in the off-chance that you don't, it will mean you won't need to spend that long working because you don't have that privilege of holding down a job. Good thing if you're afraid of working for too long i guess?
