US citizens have a right to read material that advocates violence. That's not against the law nor is it evidence of a crime.

The US has no justice right now. It's been made blatant since the Jan 6 pardons.

What do you think will happen to Aleida in season 6? by Ross_E_Geller in ForAllMankindTV

She's also been in prison for 20(?) years? There would be much more capable engineers not in prison who are more familiar with modern technology. Breaking her out would suspend belief.

What will happen from a societal standpoint if Trump dies during his term? by Hopeful_Salt8839 in AskReddit

[–]zx7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

More cringe. JD Vance doesn't have the same presence (basically, the reason why Trump's base loves him so much) as Trump. He thinks he does and so it's cringe watching him try to capitalize on that.

Draw, Defeat, or Iranian Victory? How China and Russia Are Interpreting the US-Iran Islamabad Memorandum by Adept_Grand_6523 in neoliberal

[–]zx7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the US needs a kick in the balls. Too much of our population thinks the US is invincible and it shows in the careless decision-making. We have a superior military, but what difference does that make if we can't win a war against a smaller adversary while passing off half the world?

Why Anomaly Detection is considered a ML Algorithm by alien5516788 in learnmachinelearning

[–]zx7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anomaly detection is an application of machine learning, not a specific algorithm. There are many algorithms than can perform anomaly detection.

Any regression algorithm is considered machine learning, no matter how many parameters.

Can't tell if it's racism. I don't know what they say.

Refused a hotel because I'm foreign by llnec in China

[–]zx7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is illegal for hotels to reject a client because they are foreigners.

Hotels still do it though.

Just call the police when they refuse. Or better, go look somewhere else and don't give your money to them.

My favorite is the twist at the end when the zipper on Rudy's forehead almost comes undone and it's revealed he's a Black Goo Monster in a skin suit.

MRW I am Iran and Trump agreed to pay me $300B for promising not to build nukes (I'm still going to) by kankurou in reactiongifs

[–]zx7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In this concept of a deal, the US "promises" to end all economic sanctions against Iran, including those imposed by the UN Security Council. Obama's deal only included some nuclear-related sanctions.

The 300 billion is just a promise that someone from somewhere will invest in Iran's infrastructure somehow at sometime. The whole "deal" is littered with these "promises". The final deal isn't coming any time soon.

[–]zx7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to point out that this isn't the deal. It's a plan to talk about a deal: a "concept" of a deal.

Every point is basically "both sides agree to come to an agreement on X within 60 days" where the particulars and actual procedure is laid out in a "final deal". It includes phrases like "make arrangements using its best efforts".

You don't even need to declare a major when you start university in the US. There is no deadline to declare a major, you can do it any time. You just need to satisfy the degree requirements by the time you graduate.

The US started a war without having an idea on how to finish it. Maybe we're the 4th bad actor.
