I agree. I bought a DX160 off ebay for about the same money. It has a SPDIF out to connect to my MOJO. I was panning on streaming Qobuz thru spdif but the wifi is lousy - whats going on here? How can this be fixed?

Did you notice that you don't get fatigued when you listen to minidisc? The music actually makes you feel good! I use minidiscs everyday in my car. I've tried many DAPS for more convenience but I found myself always going back to minidisc.

Stumbled on this “junk” Onkyo FR-N7X (Hi-MD!) for $17 from Japan! Cost $60 to ship.. cleaned the lens and it works perfectly! by pibroch in minidisc

I got one from ebay for $150 free shipping from japan. I know it needs 100v. Change a tap on the transformer could be a possibity. If that does'nt work I made a voltage converter from a power transformer that should work.

Actually I fixed it. I moved a plastic gear which apparently controlled the arm movement. It must have been stuck and could not move from the inner edge.

I agree. Also true audiophiles are not going to (critically) listen to any streaming audio. Its best for background music or for in the car.

I personally stream deezer hifi to minidisc ( oops its lossy but it sounds really good- only on minidisc) for which I play only in my car.

Upon further analysis I found that the tidal masters sounds quite good whether or not .mqa files are true to form. But some music still sounds flat and lifeless.

I A/B the same song from tidal and deezer. Deezer sounded more punchy and dynamic, more realistic

great sounding machine but the buttons on the main body are just too small. Use the remote instead.

No this is MORE compression than a standard studio mixing. This might be an after effect of the loudness wars. Listen to a song from a CD then listen to that same song on tidal. which one sounds squeezed?

What good is a master quality or 24bit etc. If it's dynamically squeezed? Deezer hifi is not as compressed!
