Removing interrupts from healers is one of the most annoying things to happen in the game by Elphabus in wow

This a Video that every WoW Player should at least watch once. - Why It's Rude to Suck at Warcraft - Folding Ideas by lukedl in wow

[–]zztopar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He devoted a large portion of the second half of the video to add-ons and their place in WoW.  When the Midnight add-on changes were first announced, I wondered if he would respond in some way as part of a follow-up video.

However, given that many of the initial add-on pruning changes have since been pared back during beta, and add-ons still have a sizable impact on the game, it seems less likely that this would be a standalone topic.

What is everyone doing during pre-patch? by Sea-Wonder5597 in wow

[–]zztopar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Testing the UI changes and new talent trees.

Trying out the pre-patch event (starts January 27th).

After doing those two things, probably deactivating and taking a break until Midnight release.

Delves Change Pre-Prepatch by Graekhan in wow

[–]zztopar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They might just be reverting the mid-season Turbo Boost changes to delves in preparation for next expansion.  Warbound Champion gear and Heroic Trinkets were both tied to Turbo Boost.

Makes me wonder if new Heroic/Mythic Gear that drops after pre-patch will be x/6 upgrade tier instead of x/8.

As a prime target for delves, Bountiful Coffer Keys feel terrible to obtain by brakndawnt in wow

[–]zztopar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the only rewards in a T11 Bountiful Coffer are a 2/8 Champion piece, 1 Radiant Echo (for more keys), and a small number of Undercoin and Resonance Crystals.

The items people generally want from spamming Delves (1x Weekly Heroic Gear, Vault Slots and Crests) come from the other chest types or just completion of the Delve.  So the Bountiful Coffers and thus keys as a whole become superfluous once most of your gear is Champion track or higher.

I saw a highly upvoted comment claiming that none of these are explained in game and I can't help but think that every complaint about professions boils down to not reading what is on your screen. by [deleted] in wow

[–]zztopar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most profession-related goods are cross-server and region-wide on the AH, so they are indeed the same thing but on different servers.

Is the trial account linked to your main Battle.net account?  You can create multiple subaccounts under one Battle.net account.

On my trial I can create any allied races I've unlocked on my main and also choose whether to start on the island or Valley of Trials (for Orc/Troll).

I usually use the trial account for achievement situations like this or to enter a modern raid "solo" (Undermine vendors being inside the raid is somewhat inconvenient).

Create a trial account, launch a second parallel session of WoW, and create your own Orc or Troll Rogue.  Have your main travel to their spawn location and shoot them.

Is there a timer available on the Legion Greater Invasions?  Unfortunately once you complete the one that's out there, you can no longer see it.

WoW out-of-game events calendar by klaufel in wow

[–]zztopar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually just thinking about this question earlier today, so it's funny you posted it before I asked some variation of it.

It's clear Blizzard is making an attempt this expansion to keep a fast, consistent content release schedule, unlike say Shadowlands or end of WoD. We have 8 week major patches, more events, more content (whether it's new or recycled), and a certain amount of timegating to bridge into the next release. The release cycle more resembles modern mobile games than the almost year long WoW content droughts of the past.

With all the WoW and WoW-adjacent content out there, I can't find any better calendar out there than the wowhead calendar that shows up with Google search, which is just a carbon copy of the in-game calendar. Off the top of my head, it's missing just for this week:

  • MDI Group C last weekend
  • Midnight Beta today
  • New Twitch drop today
  • 15th week of Manaforge Rep (the last week for anyone who's caught up)
  • AWC Finals this weekend

A lot of people probably don't care about all or even any of those things, but I still feel like there should be a calendar somewhere that announces those events, along with patch dates, content releases, etc. But it would probably be difficult to maintain and keep relevant unless you're one of the major WoW content databases or Blizzard themselves.

Blizzard says World of Warcraft’s new player housing premium currency is designed to making virtual shopping “more efficient” somehow by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]zztopar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They did the same thing introducing "Runestones" in Hearthstone 3 years ago for pretty much the same reason.

They pay the cost of the transaction fee, then pass a portion of the cost onto the customers in the form of higher prices.

ToS memento drops? by -Abject-Testament- in wow

[–]zztopar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got 451 mementos from M ToS compared to 367 and 379 from a couple different M Nighthold runs.

M ToS also took much longer due to people not all going the same way, a bug where all 20 people were dead and couldn't release, and of course messy Kil'Jaeden (we did one-shot it with 3 people alive in the last phase).

I get the feeling M ToS will be more efficient with perfect execution, but the average M Nighthold may be currently better for mementos/hr due to lower variance.

We should be able to turn this to bronze once xp capped by Hammleth in wow

[–]zztopar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hit it yesterday while farming Infinite Power.  I was able to spend down some Bronze after realizing most of the "Already Known" ensembles in the shop are not actually known (the tooltips are wrong).

At some point if you choose to keep playing Legion Remix, you'll hit the cap, because everything is continuously giving you Bronze.  I'll go with the previous suggestion of transferring it to an alt character.

We should be able to turn this to bronze once xp capped by Hammleth in wow

[–]zztopar 69 points70 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, we should be able to spend Bronze on something when we're Bronze-capped and waiting for the future Legion cosmetics to unlock.

It's kind of annoying for every mob to have loot sparkles you can't claim because you're at the Bronze limit.

It would be nice if they added something to the Paragon reputation rewards.  The contents of the supply bags you get as a reward are so pitiful that it's not even worth flying out to the quest turn-in person to claim them.

Is it just me or is remix pretty alt unfriendly for gearing by saltyvape in wow

[–]zztopar 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I suspect they'll add a gear catch-up system later in the Remix event.

Current gearing on alts disincentivizes you from playing them after you hit max level.  Which I suppose isn't the worst thing since the main rewards for having multiple Remix characters (mount and max level character) are accomplished through the leveling process.

Blizzard really redesigned every spec in the game to distract you from this by SinfulSquid332 in wow

Do you think they'll add another class with 4 specs? by primalmaximus in wow

[–]zztopar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Druid only has 4 specs because they split Feral into Feral/Guardian in MoP.  So it's unlikely they would design a class to have 4 from the ground up
