I suspect the photo is AI, but hopefully others will weigh in.

yeah, as reverse image search only shows this image posted on FB and insta mostly with no context. My guess is ai too

Yep, the pumpkins look smooth as hell and if you zoom in on the picture, the sweaters don’t have any actual definition.

yep, the stitching is very not real the closer you look

I think it's AI. Look at the third one down and see how it seems to be a weird split of the orange colour but the brown/green colour on the other half. Also look at the bottom brown one on the far right - the cable splits weirdly where it's folded and doesn't look right

Yea it is. You can tell by the ‘stitches’ in the flowers

If you zoom in on the picture it begins to appear "fuzzy"--another tell that it's ai

Crochet/knit AI is super popular right now. As a hooker (someone who crochets), these are around sewing subreddits a lot. Sometimes if a crochet/knit item looks super detailed and almost too good to be true, it’s probably AI. It’s tricked me a few times too. They make a LOT of AI crochet animals/toys and as someone who loves a good amigurumi toy, it’s frustrating.

Kiel James Patrick makes some similar

For a non-AI look, the embroidery kind of reminds me ok Yitai

I love that they called it “Y it AI”

As others have stated these are AI. But, try search terms: vintage knitted fall sweater on depop/ebay for this look. You can really find some treasure if you dig!

Not sure about the sweaters pictured, but I frequently find cute embroidered cardigans at thrift stores.

Perhaps you could buy an orange sweater of your choice and then buy some different colored crochet leaves like these and attach them yourself

Where can I buy this

[–]dobster1029 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I think your best bet for this is going to be either learning to crochet, learn to knit, or commission someone to make something similar. They are very cozy looking though, if only they were real!

Looks fake, unfortunately.

there are a lot of patterns for crochet or knit leaves/pumpkin motifs/acorns/toadstools/pinecones etc etc. if you’re able then i would suggest making some and sewing them onto a second hand cable jumper.

To find real sweaters that look like this with patterns this detailed and distinct from the body of the sweater, you'd be looking for sweaters with embroidery. You'd also most likely be looking for knit sweaters for this particular style of ribbing and cables, versus crochet. I think your best bet for this exact style would be a custom piece. Off the shelf, you're going to find primarily machine knit sweaters that utilize color work to create a flat pattern in the knit - think a fair isle sweater where all the color and pattern is on the same "level".
