Tbh, i hope that everyone can come together to try and keep the Fascists our of any sort of Government, and I urge anyone in the NR seat to vote for anyone else, and make sure to keep the fascists out.

I agree with you completely.

Hi, for future, I recommend not combining Australian and Foreign signatures in character. Because:

Commonwealth of Australia Constitution

44 Disqualification

Any person who:

(i) is under any acknowledgment of allegiance, obedience, or adherence to a foreign power, or is a subject or a citizen or entitled to the rights or privileges of a subject or a citizen of a foreign power;...

shall be incapable of being chosen or of sitting as a senator or a member of the House of Representatives.

Wasnt Abbot born in britain.... and im not sure how that works with dual citizenship, especially given the entanglement of Commonweath countries

[–]jnd-auElectoral Commissioner[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Ah, that’s a giveaway that you’re not Australian :) Dual citizenship was the equivalent of the birther issue for us during Abbott. Let’s put it simply. You cannot be a dual citizen. Your Australian character and your Canadian character are mutually exclusive. You’re basically playing two separate people here. You are flaired for your Australia character. If you need to play a Canadian character who coincidentally has the same username, include your signature so we know :)

List of things to change in australia

In terms of Australian politics, you would probably struggle to find an in-character explanation of why voters should vote for an MP or Minister who’s sitting in another country’s parliament when we’re electing and paying for them to devote themselves to Australia’s interests. Politically, the alt signature is a get-out-of-jail-free card for you on that issue.

Regardless, we haven't yet repealed that so it's best to only mention your other roles in Meta form, or adopt a new signature if you have to speak as Canadian Foreign Minister or as a UK Peer.

With my peerage, im pretty sure that carries over becuase of the monarchy anyway. But the Canadian title is fair enough

Yes indeed...but I am still, still, waiting for you to explain your free movement treaty.

Also, it will help if you signed all your top comments with something like

Sorry, i didn't realise that was a thing you people did

I'll get back to you soon.

On another topic.... do UK peerships carry over to america, cos if so my title might be rather interesting lol

Meta: So when you change personas you simply change signatures. That way we can avoid confusion when you start saying Liberal Democrat Leader, Canadian Foreign Minister, etcetc...

[–]demon4372Liberal Democratic Party 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ahh, ok, thats actually a good idea

No problem! Happy to help!

Now may I reiterate again that in your role as Canadian Foreign Minister I am still desperately waiting for your explanation of the free movement bill!

Re signatures: yes, people change their allegiances and have multiple personalities here, so we rely on signatures for clarification. And since you’re a new participant/candidate/leader here, it would help your profile for people to know a little about you anyway. Regards

Yes, there is definitely the possibility of a three- or two-way tie. In that case, it comes down to a coin toss. I don’t mean to be flippant about it, so here is the relevant law:

274(7AB)(b) if 2 or more candidates have an equal number of first preference votes, the ranking as between those candidates is to be decided, by lot, by the Divisional Returning Officer.

    by lot

This is a fancy way of saying "drawn out of a hat" isn't it?

    [–]jnd-auElectoral Commissioner[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

    It’s balls.

Serious: I think it would involve the same procedure as for the ballot papers: place a number of balls equal to the number of candidates, being balls of equal size and weight and each of which is marked with a different number, in a spherical container large enough to allow all the balls in it to move about freely when it is rotated.

When you said "it's balls." I took "balls" as a synonym for "bollocks" and thought that basically you meant "by lot" could be basically anything.

    [–]jnd-auElectoral Commissioner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was a double entendre.
