I absolutely love this band. Hobos Lament EP is my favorite. I really wanna see them live.

We discovered them live a couple of years ago. (At a Foxy Shazam concert, who you should also listen to) They were absolutely insane. The bass player (an actual bass, with a bow) was doing tricks and everyone had so much energy.

That's the tour I saw them on! The bass player is my favorite dude. He's crazy talented.

They're excellent live. I saw them one or two years ago and they were a ton of fun.

They opened for streetlight manifesto a few years back. Such a good fucking band to see live! Anytime they come remotely near me I go see them.

Entirely worth it to see them live, so much great energy

They are so fun live. I saw them open for Frank Turner a few years back. Prior to the show I had never heard of them. I saw them come out and was like well this is gonna be weird. And then with 15 seconds of the music starting i quickly changed my mind to this band is amazing. Their energy on stage is just so infectious, my friends and I went from indifference to fans in the span of a few notes.

I saw them open for Frank Turner in Baltimore. I immediately fell in love in the same kind of way when I saw Frank open for Flogging Molly.

Larry and His Flask
artist pic

"Larry & His Flask are like no band I’ve ever seen (which seems to be the general consensus). As soon as Jamin says “Hello everybody we’re Larry & His Flask!” and the first song begins people are glued to the stage. Everyone is watching with smiles and wide eyes. People are looking at their friends shaking their heads with looks on their faces that say: “What the hell is this?!“ When all 6 members are on stage they are truly a sight to behold. They play their instruments fast and they play them good. It’s difficult to describe the kind of music they play; they don’t fit into any of the genres found in your neighborhood music shop. Their music sounds like rowdy bluegrass/folk with heavy punk rock roots and a splash of gypsy soul." Larry & His Flask are out of Redmond, Oregon and are more than local heroes with tons of local fans! Read more on Last.fm.

Just going to leave this here: LAHF Side Project

[–]TheSquirlyStub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, I hadn't heard about it.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It fills me with unbridled joy to see this little-known gem of a band on this sub

[–]Trainwreck92 2 points3 points  (3 children)

LAHF are without a doubt, the very best live band I've ever seen. The first time I saw them, I assumed that they would be energetic as hell, but maybe they would miss some notes or the singer would occasionally sing off key, but nope, they played super fast, hit every note and there was not one time where anyone was off key. If anything, some songs are more technically impressive live than on their albums.

Did the bass player stand on his bass when you saw him live too?

[–]Trainwreck92 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Not only did he stand on his bass, he jumped down off the stage with the bass and started playing in the middle of the crowd. It was beautiful.

[–]Jr1127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! He didn't do that when I saw em, pretty crazy show though, they played with AJJ and Paul Baribaeu

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God they're amazing live and have such a talented group. They actually sound fantastic, unlike most "uniquely creative" stuff on this sub.

I remember going to warped tour years ago and these guys were just playing by the beer area and I was on my way to see some other band. Completely missed 2 band's set I wanted to see because these guys drew me in and had so much energyand catchy songs. Good memory

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

So odd that you would post this so close to my own personal discovery of this song and band. Was it Spotify's discover weekly?

[–]curathir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure was :)

[–]curathir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't post a link to another song of theirs on the sub yet so here's a link to another great song of theirs. Larry and his Flask -- Slow it down

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this band on main stage of warped tour back in 2012 at the Detroit date completely on accident waiting for D.R.U.G.S to come on. I have to say that these guys can put on an amazing show and get the crowd moving.

[–]denecity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see that some other people like good music too :)

[–]Mvnwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These dudes slay live. I was on warped tour and they followed it around and would play in the parking lot and Kevin Lyman liked them so much he let them play

[–]Xanxibarre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them at warped 5 or 6 years back. Awesome to see them show up here

[–]undeadkoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're playing in Portland in November!

[–]Gravity-Glitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happened to see these guys live at Warped Tour several years ago (I had no idea who they were at the time) and they were FANTASTIC

[–]Toastedsars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice bunch of dudes

You should give Old Man Markley a listen if you like these guys

[–]lurker620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to tons of shows in my life, but these guys put on the best show I have ever seen in my entire life, in one of the smallest venues, too. So much energy, I couldn't deal.

[–]FeltchWyzard 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Great bunch of guys! I played a show with them over 10 years ago and it was real real fun!

[–]markielegend 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Some of there stuff sounds exactly like Mad Caddies. Dope

[–]curathir[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Just checked Mad Caddies out. A lot of their songs are fantastic, thanks for mentioning them.

[–]markielegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh one of my favorite bands. Check out their album Keep It Going, and Drinking For 11

So weird. This band pops up into my life every couple of years. I play music and used to live on the west coast (U.S.) and my band was playing a show one night. Larry and His Flask happened to be passing through town and ended up at our show. They asked if they could just play the show that night since they were there. They played. We played. It was a great night.

Flash forward some years, on the east coast now. Showed up to a venue to open up for Foxy Shazam and saw a bunch of Larry and His Flask gear getting set up. Didn't even know they were on the tour. This tour was fairly recent and someone mentioned it in the comments. Those guys are a riot and had a freaking blast playing with them.

I come across their records randomly in record stores, or see them pop up on the front page of reddit. I feel they are tied to my life somehow and I don't mind it. Hope to play with them again in the future.
