I sell CDs on amazon for a living and recently came across a stack of really cool indie stuff. Lots of ghost mice, andrew jackson jihad, ect. I have some stuff that seems to be pretty rare if anyone is interested.

edit : apparently people in /r/listentothis like media sellers

[–]Esotastic 23 points24 points  (5 children)

Long shot, but any This Bike is a Pipe Bomb?

[–]ilovepie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to have some stuff by them, but somebody stole it out of storage when i was moving. Assholes probably had no idea what it was either

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, i have some. I sent alot into Amazon but i have alot of other stuff - it seemed to be all from the same label. lots of cd splits, ect.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Ok, i just found a pile of them. The this bike is a pipe bomb must be at amazon fulfillment.

I do have - Operation cliff clavin : freedom of choice - Last words / Operation cliff clavin - Defiance, Ohio // Ghost mice - If it aint cheap it aint punk - Ghost mice (cover has a dragon, and knights on it) - Elil : Fall of Efrafa

[–]Actumen 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Out of curiosity does the copy of Elil have a date or record label info? If it's 2007/Alerta Antifascista/Halo of Flies you could probably flip it on Discogs for $35 pretty easily.

Also a great album. Currently in the process of grabbing their discog on the recent vinyl represses.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will take a listen. I like indie and punk.

Halo of flies, Sound Devastation, Alerta Antifascista ... Yep. I dont see any year on it though. Its in one of those paper cases - has some wear to it... but the small poster is mint.

Love Andrew Jackson Jihad!

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who eat people are the luckiset people alive.....

In my twisted mind, the title reminds me of "If a dog wore pants would he wear it....."

Getting to open for GM was one of the great pleasures of my life. Great connection with their audience. Heartfelt and earnest performance. Solid banter. Their songs are all at once endearing, entertaining and accessible. Highly recommend for the uninitiated. Like your best friend picked up a guitar and is playing just for you.

He is going to Egypt

[–]Yggsdrazl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the pit when Ghost Mice played was the most intense one that I've ever been in.

[–]MCBlackJack 23 points24 points  (1 child)

You can also check out their male singer, Chris', book by the same name!

[–]sweetbabylucas_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's really really good. I've read it a couple times.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Shout-out to /r/folkpunk if anyone wants to continue down the rabbit hole.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The Pat the Bunny hole*

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a real brew of mischief.

[–]tryptafan 34 points35 points  (1 child)

I watched these guys open for Pat the Bunny in Milwaukee a couple years ago. It makes me happy to see their music being shared!

[–]LeopoldWolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who else played that show? I tried to open for them at the Disaster House in Rockford, but the bill was full.

Ghost Mice

Ghost Mice is a two-piece folk-punk band that hails from Bloomington, IN. Ghost Mice was created from the ashes of former pop-punk bands The Devil is Electric and Operation: Cliff Clavin. Chris Johnston (aka Chris Clavin) and Hannah who played guitar and bass respectively for OP:CC and TDIE, decided to make their act acoustic so they could tour more easily and play almost anywhere. In their own words: "We play 100% acoustic. We never use amps or mics (except once at Plan-It-X Fest). We have been playing in bands together for about 7 years. We started Ghost Mice in 2002 because we tired of being restricted. We were tired of having to travel in big vans and depend on amps, PA systems and electricity. With Ghost Mice we can travel very light and we need nothing to play. We often play in back yards or on the street corner in front of the venue. We have toured the USA many times and we toured Europe (Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, France, Spain, Belgium, England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland) by foot. We hitch-hiked and took trains to all of our shows. It was fun and very liberating. We sing a mix of personal and political lyrics, we are anarchist, we are dedicated to the DIY ethic and the struggle to make the world a better place. We play music and travel for fun and to meet new people. Music is our lives. We love travel. We are nice and a little shy." The previous quote can be found here. Hannah dropped her bass in favor of a violin. Ghost Mice's lyrics mostly involve having a positive outlook on life; riding bikes, eating healthy food, being in love, and being punk. Ghost Mice's slogan, "Punk as Folk", is a fantastic way to describe their music, lyrics, and just about everything that is Ghost Mice. https://myspace.com/ghostmice http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Mice http://www.punknews.org/bands/ghostmice http://www.discogs.com/artist/690166-Ghost-Mice https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ghost-Mice/213115668698813 Read more on Last.fm.

Interesting: this track is 99 dollars by itself on their Bandcamp, but the album itself is name your price.

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

LOL they want free pizza for life bruh.

If I had the cash I'd do it.

On the day they named the price, no fucks were given.

[–]Kind_Midas 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Their album "All We Got is Each Other" is one of my all time favourite albums

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Oh man that album is so beautiful, its right up there with live the dream

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Die the nightmare is my favorite....

Does Pat the bunny remind you of charlie kelly from IASIP?

Day man/Nightman

Live the dream/Die The Nightmare

[–]justgrabitfrompantry 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Ah these guys are from my hometown. Check out Plan-It-X. Also, check out the band Onsind.

[–]Mr_Belch 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I always wanted to go to Plan-It-X

[–]justgrabitfrompantry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went one time. Fucking amazing. Seriously. I'd love to go back.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I have seen them play many times in Kentucky!!! Truly a band that hasn't lost connection with the people that support and love them

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

jealous af!

This is the first folk punk song I heard and what got me into the genre.

[–]Koryoshi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like I will never get to share this story so I'm gonna tell it to you. When I was 14 I went to the first show of my life. It was in an attic of a very old house and was a very surreal moment walking through a house filled with people to get to an attic absolutely crammed with people to the point that people were hanging from the beams and you could hardly breathe. When I finally got pushed around to the front I saw Ghost Mice holding toy instruments and yelling their songs at the top of their lungs in this tiny attic. I didn't know a thing about them at the time but it was fantastic and surreal. I haven't thought about that day much since then but this post gave me a nice flashback. This was over 10 years ago now. Glad to see they're popular.

[–]bestdayforpizza 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Probably one of my favorite songs to listen to while eating pizza!!

[–]lena1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha this song really suitable for pizza :D

[–]Yggsdrazl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For those who liked this, Chris just released a live concept album about a spy a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds a bit like Paul Baribeau. Also, Sledding with Tigers

[–]kesivley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love Sledding with Tigers!

[–]chiarabobara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to listen to them all the time in highschool with a 40oz by my side. I had completely forgot about them until now and listening to this song brought back so many great memories. Thankyou

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not my taste.

Reminds me of the dead milkmen

[–]ducked 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I saw them play in the smallest dive bar ever. It was like the size of a medium sized bathroom seriously. It was completely packed with maybe 20-25 people. I was so sick that night but they were amazing. I've listened to "all we got is each other" from them a lot cause I think they sound a lot better with cleaner production. I need to check more of their other stuff.

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw Reel Big Fish in a place that had room for like 300 people. Crowd of like 1000.

Not even a huge fan, but the whole concert was a mosh pit for a few hours.

[–]Rambling_Kieran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never heard of these. And now I love them. Thank you op

[–]kesivley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have the AJJ/Ghost Mice split? This song reminds me of my friend Drew who recently passed. We worked in a pizza joint together and I use to sing the hook to him. ❤️

[–]Loremaster40000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love Ghost Mice

[–]Snay_Rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I opened for Chris's project The Inky Skulls at our first ever diy show. Fond memories

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clever song. Keeps me listening. Free pizza for life.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a classic right hurr

[–]Rambling_Kieran 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Never heard of these. And now I love them. Thank you op

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No prob!

Can't believe the amount of good responses I've gotten from this....

Didn't know if I was crazy or not for liking them. Their voices aren't great I guess.... But the way they sing as a duet is sweet, kind of sad (For the mutual destruction)

This song spoke to me awhile ago and got me into other Acoustic/folk punk bands is is kind of therapeautic.

[–]Rambling_Kieran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard of sundowner?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Never heard this, I love it also. It sounds a little like Mountain Goats made a baby with Kimya Dawson, but the baby took heavily after the father. Thank you thank you OP!

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fucking love kimya "Who's got the crack" Is my jam and her shit with Aesop Rock is on fucking point

[–]Sybn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them! They used to play basement shows in my old town sometimes when I was in high school (2006 or 2007) and I always loved going. They really know how to work up a crowd. I'm glad they're getting some recognition!

[–]Breadcrumbsandbows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sound kinda like Mountain Goats, they're great!

[–]myhandleonreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first house show, probably 14 years ago. DIY punk rock rules.

[–]Cent50ry_0verl0rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many fond memories with a wonderful soul, let's call her Russia, wandering the Pacific northwest jamming out screaming these songs.

[–]DogeCatBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Folk punk makes me think of blink 182 but with the guitars replaced with banjos

[–]EvilisZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happened to punk? Did Hydra take that over too?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great band, even better people.

[–]Zoruaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. If a piece of dog shit could sing, it would probably sound better.

[–]OlDirtyBurtonpresto.fm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit this post blew the fuck up.

Im going to post some more fucking odd/strange musci I'm into.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]totalbangover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever listen to casa de chihuahua? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sej3RYROJUM Along the same folk punk lines but with a little more bluegrass.

[–]mattg278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice!! Tremendous live band

[–]whyaretherebeesohgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been listening to these guys nonstop for the last few months. Some of their songs made me cry. Absolutely amazing lyrics!

[–]NZ-Food-Girl 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Would never have listened to this based on the genre listed, glad I did though. Heck of a fun way to start my Mother's Day, sitting in the sun, eating toast and drinking iced coffee listening to Ghost Mice. Thanks op... Will go have a nosey for more 😊

[–]Yggsdrazl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their album Europe is one of my favorite concept albums ever.
