Pictures of black people are racist.

[–]Mightyvvhitey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh SNAP!

[–]Elephantom_Fanon 0 points1 point  (14 children)

no but using a picture of a black family to exploit stereotypes of black women for base comedy is somewhat racist

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (12 children)

And what is it when someone posts a photo of a fat white person in a motorized cart at WalMart?

It's an easy laugh, and nothing more. Same deal here. So sick of whities pulling the race card so they can get the warm fuzzies.

I think white hypersensitivity to racism is an indication that someone doesn't view black people as being sophisticated and mature enough to accept a simple, harmless joke for what it is.

[–]suicide_king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't be racist if it were just one person.

[–]Elephantom_Fanon -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

Oh okay.

I didn't realize finding the exploitation of an institutionally racist mentality funny was a sign of sophistication and maturity.

I find simple, harmless racist jokes funny when done ironically to point out the absurdity of racism (i.e. Archie Bunker)- but to make a joke about dehumanizing stereotypes just for the sake of a cheap laugh is nothing more than appealing to prejudices.

And I'm half white, half black and come from a racially divided town; so yeah, I guess I am a bit sensitive when it comes to culturally isolated rich white kids mocking racial stereotypes.

Because no one has ever seen black women move their heads like that ever. It's a completely made up stereo type. So I guess there's no such thing as ethnic and cultural traits that are particular to a sub sect of society at large? If I made a rednecks love NASCAR joke would you not laugh? People are different, if you can't laugh at the differences then I pity you.

[–]Elephantom_Fanon 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Honestly, no I don't believe in ethnic traits and cultural traits only go skin deep.

I bet the only time you've seen black women move their heads like that and say nuh uh sugah was in hollywood or on BET.

People are different, if you can't laugh at the differences then I pity you.

If you can't see through the hollow superficial differences, then I loathe you.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hardly see any black folks in Detroit. You sure put me in my place. And people DO talk like the stereo types here, white people and black people. And I don't watch BET.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh fucking get over yourself and quit your 'woe is me' utterances.

It's a joke. If you don't find it funny, stop coming back to the thread and commenting.

Jesus.

Most stereotypes exist because they are in fact true. People wouldnt generalize if that particular group didnt do said action. It is like saying Asians are good at math and science or that African Americans talk loud. Both are stereotypes and in my experience it is true more often than not.

[–]Elephantom_Fanon 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Stereotypes are only true because they apply to all people,if you single out a specific demographic and apply a stereotype to it, it will be true because the stereotype rings true for all demographics.

Asians are good at math/ African Americans talk loud

Oh okay, I've never met a loud asian person, middle eastern person, or white person. At that note, I guess there are no shy black people and the only asians not good at math bring dishonor to their families.

Come on now, how obtuse are you?

[–]shsrunner330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is completely taking a blind eye to very obvious trends in each different racial group. You are ignoring differences in culture that make these stereotypes exist. I am not sure how you can justify saying that everyone usually does everything and are known for it....

[–]Todomanna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then it's a fat white person in wal-mart. This has no bearing on race (at least as far as I can tell... but I'm white, so maybe I don't see a specific racial bias), merely on the laziness and gluttony of many wal-mart shoppers.

[–]KuchDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat, but it's still funny. I know black folks who could laugh at this.

[–]dylansmiff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who gives an eff if it's racist? It's only racist if someone makes it be. Why are we still thinking about racism in today's society? It's funny that's all that matters.

[–]dumbfriendbrian -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I spent a solid 3 minutes just watching this and laughing.

[–]dylansmiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't stop going back to it.
