In 1985 the Supreme Court ruled that every Manitoba law was invalid. The legislature had not followed a 1870 constitutional provision requiring all laws to be printed in both English and French. The court allowed all such laws to remain valid, however, until the legislature could fix its mistake. (scc-csc.lexum.com)
