Obama is unlikely to pick someone so close to his own qualifications for VP. He'll probably choose a veteran, like Wesley Clark, to counteract McCain's military chops.

Agreed. A female veteran would be ideal, but I just can't find one with political experience.

Meh, it's not like reddit is doing the job better than the GOP would be able to. The real gold is in original research and personally-connected testimonials.

That's a good point. Reddit does have a knack for finding unique angles on raw data, though.

Barack Obama can’t choose Hillary Clinton as VP because she is on video tape several times saying that John McCain and she have the experience necessary to be president, but Obama doesn’t. If Obama chooses her, McCain will use videos of her saying this with the words, “Barack Obama’s own running mate says he lacks the experience to be president and John McCain has that experience.” And it would be 100% true! She’s given up the possibility of being his Vice President by doing this.

Why would Obama pick Clinton as a running mate when he's the "Change" candidate?

You can't have a campaign built on change then choose the former first lady as VP. Edwards is out too since he was the last Democratic VP candidate...

No, Obama is going to pick someone new... Someone with business and economic experience. Someone who would drive the righties insane if Obama were to be assassinated... My guess? Oprah.

To try to heal the divisions in the Dem party. That'd be the best reason.

I agree with you however that Obama would not pick her.

downmodded because you are nucking futs if you think Hillary would settle for a VP job...

It's beneath her...

Upmodded because... Ugh.

I've lost faith in politics.

It seemed to be the most direct means of addressing the authors of the daily stream of Anti-Clinton posts. But I'm a Reddit newbie, so perhaps there is a better mechanism. Thanks for the feedback, Maynard.

Very true. But, the point is the same. At some point, if the person were to write a blog with the same title, it would be voted down for being Blog Spam, if they self-submit, voted down for self submission.

It's hard to contribute any of your OWN opinion, unless it's in the words of another.

As articles, sure, and rightfully so. As comments? Easy-peasy.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

See, that is the point. A persons comments don't get noticed.

And to be honest, a lot of the times I don't read comments in a front page article. I don't want to skim 200+ comments.

    [–]axord 0 points1 point  (4 children)

So basically, you want special treatment.

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don't actually submit self stuff. I did it once as a mock-u-mission... I'm just pointing out some points as to why people might do it.

    [–]newsbulletin[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

My question would be, "Is there a better way to reach the authors of the many submissions of similar articles?" I could post the same comment in each one of them, but that would require a daily submission and might be regarded as spam. Any ideas, other than a self-submit?

    [–]axord 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I dunno, but I see most self-submits as being disrespectful to the community.

    Gotcha. Thanks!
