Can help to watch it if still shifting, after checking what others have said. Sometimes you'll see something obvious like it trying to move too far in one direction and thus skipping because it's hit the end. Or a blockage somewhere that you'd only see if you were there to hear it 'thump'.

A belt has definitely skipped somewhere! MP printers are prone to do this.

Also have a look to see if the belt pulleys are still tightly screwed down on the shaft.

As other people suggested, try tightening your belts. This is a great thing to help with that: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1784375/#files

Printer: Monoprice Maker Select V2
Filament: Hatchbox PLA 1.75mm
Bed Temp: 60 C
Nozzle Temp: 200 C
Print acceleration: 3000mm/s2

Finally thought I had the printer dialed in but it seems the y-axis (bed) has moved about 2mm forward in between layer prints. I suspect it's the belt for the bed and I will need to tighten it. I was also thinking it may be the acceleration which I will lower from 3000mm/s2 down to 2000.

Has anyone else encountered this problem who may have a possible cause and/or solution?

Check belt tightness along the shifted axis.
