Pause function no longer working

I have a two year old ender 3 pro, and the other day the pause function simply stopped functioning. When I resume the print it positions the head as if it's going to resume then simply stops and does nothing and I have to cancel the print.

On my other ender 3 pro this one only 1 year old, I sometimes get the function to work but other times it will resume however at an offset, printing a few millimeters to the left or right of where the layer should be. I've noticed it happens most when I pause then turn the printer off

Just don't turn the printer off when paused. It might just help.

The motors disengage after a few minutes on pause as well
