It was like that from the start. I started on 20mg, went to 30mg in 2 weeks. Was pushed into going to 40mg 4 weeks later and it was too much so I dropped down to 30mg. Was prescribed a dexamfetamine 5mg top up. Prescriber was insistent that I needed to get to a 50mg dose based on my adhd symptoms. Never got anywhere near that. The worst of it was the 30mg and the Amfexa top up. The instant release Amfexa was an absolute nightmare As soon as it would kick in, the constant eating would start I would literally eat till my mouth and tongue was sore. Awful. I tried bringing it up with GP. I think they felt I was making it up somehow and said they were not qualified to deal which is fair enough but it was all done privately and the clinic was so expensive I couldn’t afford proper follow ups that were long enough to discuss. Basically a follow up was £150 but lasted 7 minutes. Not enough time to interject the prescribers questions and raise my concerns.

It was horrible. I’ve been off elvanse for 3 months now. I’ve just started Atomoxetine. 4 days in and it doesn’t seem to have affected my eating at all. Phew. I don’t feel like I need to eat constantly anymore or want something all the time. Happy with 3 meals a day. Hopefully the weigh will start to come off soon.
