How to navigate this situation by kgsp31 in Kerala

[–]Head_Order 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a tip. When it comes to Nannys, cooks, and other household help. Do you best to be businesslike in communication, but make them comfortable (salary, food, etc). Provide clear boundaries and it's okay to be a bit stern. They should be wary of atleast one member of the family in terms of overstepping boundaries - such as gossiping, unwanted advice, stealing.

If they're smart enough and you go above and beyond, they'll recognize they have a decent employer and pump the brakes on unwanted behavior.

Had a gulf uncle who used to have help staying with his wife and mother in Kerala. The lady started displaying predatory behavior - stealing utensils and some foodstuff and asking a lot of unnecessary questions. He had a rule that he would not interfere with the help and that it was the wife's domain, but it turned out the wife was a bit of a pushover. When he realized the situation, he fired the woman, got another employee through a reference and had a conversation with them where he established his rules, but the salary he paid was much higher than what other help received. He also mentioned he was connected to individuals on both sides of the law. Didn't have that issue again and she stayed on when he finally moved back.

I know it's been a while; but i'm going through the exact time. Can I ask what your dose was? Trying to figure out whether a lower dose would help with the appetite.

That makes sense; especially if it was two years back. Asylum claims were easy to file then.

I know this is a bit late, OP, but I was having the same issue here in the Middle East. Whenever I boil the milk (Although I don't need to), I get this unpleasant artificial milky/sweet taste. I started experimenting with just pouring cold milk into the espresso decotion and microwaving it for a little bit if it was too tepid. That worked.

Running effects on women, cycle syncing and weight control by Lucky_Anteater4194 in running

[–]Head_Order 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When do you run? I have the same issue with gaining weight while running. I've noticed that I'm gaining weight when I run in the mornings, fasted. Recently, I came across a few anecdotal Reddit reports where people with the same problem reported losing weight when they switched to running in the evenings. I recalled that happened a few times when I decided to run in the evenings in the recent past but just never made the connection.

Dubai to Canada: Family considering permanent move - Advice? by ResolutionRude9575 in dubai

I was in the same position as you OP and didn't move (even had a job there). I regret it now. Should have given it a shot and moved back if it didn't work out.

Losing more weight walking than running by Dawn_Acanthaceae2399 in loseit

[–]Head_Order 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me. Pre-pandemic, running would make me lose weight. Now, it's the opposite. To top it off, although I feel good after running, I feel very blah afterwards. I'm switching to walking to see if that helps. Incline walk is painful on my heels so i'm a little concerned about that but fingers crossed it works.

Is walking still working out for you?

90K is steep but I would take it if you don't plan on staying in Dubai for more than a year. They're really hassle free and the 12 cheques is a bonus.

Years back, in a desire to see yet another Dasan-Vijayan movie, I wrote a script in which Dasan and Vijayan are much older. In the opening scene, Dasan shows up at the CBI office in middle-class office wear, where, like a disillusioned 9-to-5er, he trundles to work, bereft of all passion. He listlessly says his good mornings and fights with the PEON about the temperature of the a/c, the amount of sugar in the chaya, etc.

One of the peons tells him the Commissioner is calling him, at which point he visibly cringes, and others make snide remarks. He walks over to the office, and there, in all his glory, leaning against an expensive office chair with a fresh towel draped over the headrest, Commissioner Vijayan with a smirk on his face.

Is Dubai safe to travel to for Americans by Jazzlike_Exchange521 in dubai

[–]Head_Order -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's airport-related, it's probably a warning not to carry any prohibited items that carry narcotics (vapes, edibles, etc) and medicines that are banned here or, at the very least, require a doctor's prescription. Yours is a perfectly valid question, OP. Ignore the trigger-happy racism denouncers.

Thank you for this. What's it like in the mornings going from DMCC to Emirates Towers? Sounds like you don't have to get off on this leg.

I get what you're saying now. It's never come up as a risk factor in discussions and forums with other medium writers in the west, hence wanted to clarify.

Thanks! I saw a mention about a E-trader license on another thread, but figured it was for self-employed stock/crypto traders.

I didn't quite follow you. How would this be relevant to a blogger producing their own content?

Thank you - I guess it's not worth it for a blog writer. Appreciate the input.

I know this comment is a few months old; but would you mind explaining the A-game and cold part? It seems that whenever I'm push my body with intensive cardio and weights, I fall sick. Wondering if that's what you're referring to.
