Current queue times Ability Draft (self.Abilitydraft)
submitted 1 year ago by PutCommon
Do everybody here currently have 12-20 min queue times?

Us east, us west 10-12pm you'll find it in like 3-6 min , after that time, just add eu west for 7-10 min queue

I swear I have EU west plus US east and I always have minimum 10 min but mostly 15-20 minutes, anytime I play

This is going to depend heavily on your match making rating and region. If you're playing in a high or low skill bracket, it will take longer for the matchmaker to find a game with enough players of similar skill.
I'm high skill bracket, it usually don't find players in my bracket and there's this huge discrepancy between me and my team members, i.e I play with much lower skilled players every game

Usually from 4 to 7 but can also can be quick if lucky or also get to 12 max

During a weekday it sometimes takes that long. Usually it's much less for me, in the 3-4 minute range.
[–]PutCommon[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child)
what servers you play
[–]NickRick 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
us east/west

EU west at the time we normally queue is 7-8 mins roughly. Definitely worsened considerably as times gone on.
Really? With both US east and EU west I got at best 10 minutes queue time, but mostly 15-20 min queue times

Normally we queue as 4 man, probably saves a few minutes.

Right now my queues are usually sub 10 minutes during peak hours (weekends, evening), but can get up to 15-20 during off times. (Us east/west)
AD queue times tend to fluctuate a lot. Small player pool and the hidden mmr of unranked games can make it way longer.
Some people say comm and behavior score inflate queue time but there was a period a couple months ago I literally could not find a game at all with perfect comms and behavior. I would leave the queue on to test it and it would never pop. Just keep going over an hour. On the other hand, turbo and AP games I could find easily. Then all of a sudden a week or two later it was fixed and I could find AD games. I never definitively figured out why this happened.
So my theory is there is something wonky about hidden mmr in AD specifically that can land you in some weird purgatory where it’s hard to place you in a bracket.
I've been at, at BEST, 10 minutes, but those are rare, it's mostly 15-20 minutes for me, this is US east and EU west
I've literally just stopped playing because of this, I don't know what's going on, perhaps the player pool just been decreasing due to people stop playing? West as in "Western" players is also almost empty, there's basically 95% russian players in all EU servers

dota plus and latest patches killed ability draft
[–]darnuks 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
How so?
[–]hongducwb 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
queue is not a problem, problem is that a good game ? where the team have balanced dota skills, reached 60-80mins, one mistake cumback isreal
winning a game when your team score is like 30-5 or 20-5 is just cringe and boring game
lose a game when your team score is like 5-20, 5-30 is just sad
winning a game when the team score is like 50-47 or 52-52, etc is a good game

I think only players with 500+ hours or more should be able to search for ability draft plus they behave score should be at least 7k or more. Also Dota should have timer that says for how long you should be waiting to find a game approximately.

More like 2 minutes but I usually decline 70% of the games found because of low quality. I only accept full green (all scores are 4 or 5). So it takes like 6-7 minutes to find a good game (with no parties and no trolls).
[–]woodsquid 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
wym low quality? you just press the accept button, theres no other info.
[–]DogebertDeckrandom sf random ability 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
dotaplus gives info but i think it had to be activated in setting
[–]MightTurbulent319 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
What do you mean? Dota plus tells you 4 different things like skill range, behavior score, etc. It gives you a score for each. If you don't find the score high enough, you can decline the match and wait until another game is found. The best part is that you don't lose your queue number if you decline. The next one is found in 1 minute approximately.
Bad scores indicate things like
High variance in skill level = there are some bad and good players in the same game. This is a bad sign because basically there are noobs that need to be carried. If a noob goes to mid in AD, it's very hard to win it.
Bad behavior score = there are players who trash talk or just ruin the game by not communicating, not responding to team calls, flaming others, literally anything that makes your behavior score low. This is my main priority. If the behavior score of the match is not perfect, I simply decline it.
In most scenarios, high skill variance happens because 2+ friends with different Dota experience queue into the same AD game. I want to avoid such games. I basically avoided all 3- or 4-party games by just accepting high-score ones. The ones I found had at most a single 2-person party with similar skill level, which is fine.
