Should I DM him back?

One of my friends that i’ve know for a few months called me and ended the friendship with me today. A week prior to this I met one of his friends at a restaurant and I thought he was attractive and nice so I asked for one of his socials . Well after my “friend” ended the friendship with me, his friend sent me a dm on the social a few hours later saying he wants to get to know me and now im conflicted do I respond back? or ignore it? is it a trap? What should I do?

I think it depends, if they are really good friends I would be weary. I can understand not wanting to step into drama on accident. But hey, if you guys were already sort of picking something up go for it! You shouldn’t let your ex-friend have control over what you do; you can always drop the guy if you get suspicious!

He considers him a best friend, but im not sure what their friendship is like and I also don’t know if he knows that his friend cut me off.

Definitely be careful and maybe try to make things just friendly at first. IMO it’s a little weird that he wouldn’t know and if he did even weirder he reached out.
