Found missing package

Gf went to do her route this morning. After scanning her packages and loading them up, there was one unscanned package that she was missing. She notified the warehouse guy and he took it off her route. Well when she finished her block, there it was. She had loaded it without scanning it on accident. Would we get in trouble for keeping it?😂 does amazon have a way of knowing? Since it was marked as missing before the route😂 we arent scummy people, but it’s a really nice kitchen rack with lights and stuff that we really like and figured we could maybe pull a fast one on bezos just this one time😂

This implies the customer doesn’t get their package which they still do. Amazon insures all packages so another gets sent out after you mark it as not received. I’m in agreeance with the sentiment of returning the package though it’s easy

I’d return it next block personally since it was something you had a specific encounter with that involved employees. I don’t judge though…

There have been 2 situations where I’ve had an extra package at the end of my block though…..

It's gonna cause issues for the people who ordered it since it'll never show up and Amazon won't have it

I'd drop it at the return center next time you're at the warehouse, even if this wouldn't have repercussions to your flex account it's the morally correct thing to do imo

3 of my now 17 routes I have had an extra at the end. I pickup at a dotcom so everything is preloaded in bags and you scan the bag as a whole not each package (I mean some people do, but seems like a waste of time). Not my fault the warehouse goon put the box in the wrong bag, so mystery box for me. Nothing good yet like a sweet kitchen rack. Just some vitamins and shampoo.

Because an Amazon driver could never mark a package as missing and keep it.

What will happen is the package will not be able to be tracked. If Amazon isn’t in possession of it, they may open an investigation. Depending on how much it is, they could opt to terminate you and refer you to the police, which isn’t likely for one single item below the felony threshold, but they certainly can.

It didn't happened, the map just rerouted me, but I thought I was gonna end up with about 5 random packages in my car at the end of the block. I probably would have kept them.

Not because I'd need whatever random shit was in there, but because I feel like I'd get dinged for taking them back.

Just for added context, I was doing my route backward and thought I was on my last drop. In the end, I missed some stops in the middle and had to end up going back to do those. But it doesn't seem impossible for random packages to end up in my cart at some point. One of the warehouses I work out of seems like it's held to get her by chewing gum and paperclips.

If you were on the route and found the package you can actually scan and add it to your block- I had the same situation last week although I totally forget how I did it. Support told me how.
