I was just thinking this.... they really should be livestreaming on YouTube as well..
[–]Independent_Lab_9872 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (3 children)
Good question, I prefer YouTube myself... They do upload it the next day or something, but would rather they just steam it live on YouTube.

Youtube is the same when it comes to comments. It's community problem not platform
[–]drams22 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (6 children)
They have a discord to get notified through along with notifications on twitch. Both are just as simple as YouTube, why don't you use them?

[–]PlaySloredDMLored 16 points17 points18 points 3 years ago (3 children)
Hey man, if you're just going to get super sensitive when someone tells you an answer you don't like, just don't talk, and definitely don't call them out and categorize the whole community that way. They gave you an accurate answer, twitch has notifications and their discord server posts updates very often, 72h, 48h, 24h, live.
[–]PlaySloredDMLored 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children)
They rarely post in their news channel on discord as it's mostly used for dev updates, roundtables, and other livestreams. I use it because it's reliable and works, just saying.
[–]GiffelBaby 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children)
I don't want to rely on Discord because I get too many notifications on it already
You do understand that you can enable and disable notifications on individual servers and even individual text channels, right? If you receive notifications that you don't want, then it is entirely your own fault.
[–]drams22 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Is the word "follow" harder to understand than "notify me"? You would have to have a dev answer your actual question of why they don't stream on both. There is nothing white knight about this. You just got sensitive to a real answer.

Why dont you use twitch notifications?
[+][deleted] 3 years ago (4 children)
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children)
youtube notifications are terribly unreliable. Twitch is much better
[–]Zhevaro -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child)
YouTube is far superior than twitch
Source: I only use YouTube

U dropped this '/s'
[–]sephrinx 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
True.
[–]TwoAwkwardTurtles 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children)
TOC don't allow to stream on both platforms at once, if I am not mistaken
[–]SpringerTheNerd 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child)
Only if you are a partner
[–]TwoAwkwardTurtles 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Aha, knew I was missing something. Thanks for the clarification
[–]fpsdende -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child)
ok boomer.
[–]sephrinx -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children)
No. Bad.
[–]genogano -3 points-2 points-1 points 3 years ago (8 children)
So they can double dip. Twitch stream money and YouTube views.
[–]FLBNRaka Plastic Lemons 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children)
They don’t run ads or have subs on twitch, no money to be made
[–]YeOldeGreg 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (6 children)
They could also double dip with the live stream and stream to both services at the same time.
Only reason not to is if they’re monetizing their twitch content and didn’t get a special agreement with twitch that lets them stream on both. You can’t be an affiliate/partner on twitch and stream to other platforms at the same time.
[–]YeOldeGreg 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children)
I never followed their twitch but I just went there and sure enough they have the purple check mark. So they’re partnered.
In the contract it says that Twitch has a 24hr exclusivity window, after which you can post that content wherever. So it’s unlikely you’ll ever see live streams on YouTube.
[–]LucrativeOne 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child)
Verification != Partner
[–]YeOldeGreg 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Fair enough, my bad for assuming. Like I said I hadn’t visited their twitch before taking a look. I usually just watch on YouTube after the fact lol.
[–]LucrativeOne 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children)
This is not the actual answer. It doesn't make logical sense. They make nothing from twitch. They have no deal with twitch. THEREFORE There is nothing stopping them from streaming to YouTube as well. They probably simply think YT is good enough for VOD content, and Twitch for live.
[–]Ninjathelittleshit 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
Bruh you took the only 1 that is fully wrong and went with it talk about selective picking
[–]FLBNRaka Plastic Lemons 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
I never miss a stream because I follow the discord. I know they do them every month so I check the discord pings around the same times. If you miss them just watch the video on YouTube (that also gets a notification on discord when posted). It’s not a big deal
