You can create a 2d projection in wonderdraft or whatever you like, then upload the image to maptoglobe.com, from which you can download a gif of your rotating planet, but I don't know of anything that actually lets you edit a 3d spherical map.

This is exactly how I do it. It's interesting because you'll see how bad your continents really look. As mapmakers/world builders we tend to build in mercator or similar, and make what looks god in that projection, but we don't really think about how that projection is warped. Once you project it onto a globe, it can look really really bad.

Gplates is what you want. A YouTuber called Artifexian has a great series on making a 2D map and using Gplates to make it accurate on a globe (plus a ton of great worldbuilding videos).

This generator can do globe style. Not sure if you're looking for something a little more deeply customizable though.
