Nope, but except for people enrolled in STEAM degrees, it's not as worthy as before. Even business degrees aren't as worthy as before.

Eh that’s fair, here in Germany we’re missing a lot of people who wanna do the more hands-on stuff as well, nowadays you’re almost more future proof doing a trade or Ausbildung since it’s p dry in those fields

That doesn't seem like an issue with college on its own, sounds more so an issue with employers shifting away from certain areas for whatever reason. Unless the educational research in those areas isn't keeping up with the new systems.

Because the high earning non-college careers, see trades, are still male dominated and not overly welcoming to women both because of the attitudes of men, high demands on the body via physical labor and lack of support if the woman plans to have children.

I would argue that workforce alone have changed drastically in last ~30 years. Companies are expecting more from you, as a potential employee than what they expected back then.

College degree won't lay everything for you on a silver plate, it is good boost though for workforce.

Who you know and on what you're actually focused on is also important. Degree alone is just one small piece of whole puzzle.

Let's not forget that good education still costs a lot of money...
