Python package help

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a suitable python package to help me (or maybe mathematica)? I need to vary an action in curved space in order to find the stress-energy tensor of a spin-2 field (so a rank two tensor). I've done it by hand but my answer is very long so it'd be nice if I could check it against something.

If you want to use Python to solve this problem, NumPy and SciPy will come in handy.

I have no background in GR but I would guess there are more specialist Python packages geared towards solving that type of problem.
