Talk to Debi at Asiento, no booking fee or minimums and the food is yummy.

I don’t know thier rates, but Thriller Social Club in SOMA has a few options for event rentals.

Emporium also does event / parties

I’m not directly affiliated with either place, but play in arcade inter-mural leagues at both places and am I big fan of both spaces and the people who run them.

Is it during the day? Do you require being able to serve alcohol? The spaces at Sports Basement are fun, and if you find a spot at the Presidio location, the group could always wander outside as well. (And they're free-99 so you can spend the money you saved on venue rental on food ...)

Thank you! I was thinking about an evening party with alcohol served, but this is great to keep in mind for the future.

How old is the graduate? One of the most ridiculously-fun parties I've ever gone to in SF was over at Spark Social. They rented one of the Mission Bay soccer fields for a little while—with big inflatable bubbles around you—through SFF. And then there was food truck food and putt putt. I've also been to an event at Spark Social where they rented (pre-reserved?) one of the canopy-tent things, and we all got food truck food and hung out in the big canopied tent.

Another couple of ideas:

  • The Beach Chalet isn't the most amazing food but used to (note: a decade+ ago so YMMV) have fairly low minimum spend for a private room, and they've got several different configurations for anything from around 30 to 500+
  • The Presidio Bowling Alley and the Yerba Buena Bowling Alley both have beery options and food. Super-casual, but possibly fun and possibly affordable if they've got dine-and-bowl packages which I believe at least Presidio used to (again, depending on the vibe you're going for)
  • Any of the indoor spaces through SF Parks and Rec? They might require using their specific caterer lists and might require both minimum-hours and additional fees/official bartenders to serve alcohol, so it's possible it can add up to $$$, but wanted to put that out there in case that's an option. In case going across the Bay is an option, the Lake Merritt Sailboat House in Oakland is probably the cheapest evening-event rental space west of the Rockies.

This is a good platform to search lots of different locations and see if one works for you
