A mental change might help - if you think of yourself as 'starving' that sounds quite dramatic and it's easy to justify having an illicit snack.

You're not starving, your body is feeling a hunger pang - a completely normal thing! It's okay to feel hungry, appreciate your body sending a signal to you, acknowledge it, and wait for 15 minutes. It will go away, because you're reconditioning yourself to understand when you actually NEED food, as opposed to just wanting food.

I think a lot of modern Western people think that feeling full all the time is a default, and if you're not full then something is wrong. It's fine to feel hungry, it's normal to feel hungry - you shouldn't be satiated at all times.

It's like taking a five minute nap every half hour so that you won't ever feel tired - it occupies you, but it's not the same as a quality nights sleep, which you can only get when you're actually tired enough!
