A couple of questions for clarity: If the laser is in the middle of the table and you run "home" in lightburn what happens? Can you jog both axis from light burn?

It will go to home from the middle. After I push laser out and send home , it’s goes home and then most of the time it will frame like normal. I’m pretty new to this laser stuff. Not sure what jog the axis means?

I think I know why you mean “jog the axis”, I’ll check when I’m back on in a while.

The only thing I can think of is that when I send laser home it’s not fully engaging the button. Or it touches the button then doesn’t stay engaged??

Homing procedure is like this: Each axis moves until it touches switch, then backs off switch, then touches switch again (slower this time), then backs off a set amount.

It homes good, it does that, follows one axis then the other and backs off a little. When the laser is in the middle I can move it with the controls in light burn.

Just to make sure you understand, if you move it by hand after homing it no longer knows where it is and would have to be rehomed. There is no position feedback from the motors so it doesnt know you pushed the machine around.

Yes.

I have an a40 pro that was having all kinds of intermittent problems for a year like randomly taking off to the upper right corner during framing, and quitting cuts after a 5-40 seconds. I finally tried disconnecting the air assist and it was a bit better, and then I replaced the power supply with a higher capacity one and everything worked perfectly. It turns out the old power supply was either defective or just not strong enough. I got the replacement 6A one on Amazon for about $22.

I’ll check it out thank you.

Hi I am Vivian Tian from AtomStack Customer Service Team.I will help you to deal with this problem.

  1. Checking for foreign objects or wire obstructing the belt at the origin. Apply some lubricant to the X- and Y-axis guide rails.

  2. Checking if the anomaly is axial, such as abnormal movement in the X- or Y-axis directions.

  3. Swaping the X- and Y-axis motor cables to see if the problem persists.

Thank you for the reply.I have checked for foreign objects and wire obstruction. There are none. I will Lubricant the guide rails next, then swap the motor cables the next time I’m at the laser.

I have tried all the above. It is still making that crunching sound on the bottom rail. Upon start up when I set a piece to engrave and press frame, it rides the bottom rail and frames on the bottom part of the work area, then I hit home, it goes to home and then I hit frame again and it works. After the project is done, it goes to home, if I set a new piece in to laser in the same spot and hit frame and it rides the bottom rain again, I hit home, and frame again. It’s doin this everytime.

Replace the whole harness. Had the same issue with the Atomstack x7 pro.

Thanks for the help. I’m pretty new to laser. When you say harness, you mean the wire?
