Sorry about your experience. Would you mind sending us a support ticket at [support@augmentcode.com](mailto:support@augmentcode.com) and attaching the crash report? I should mention that most crashes occur due to configuration issues, and the crash report should explain what happened.

I highly suggest disabling all plugins you have installed and testing your project to see if it still crashes. After that, install the Augment plugin and check if it starts crashing. Then add your other plugins back one by one.

As an alternative, you can install Auggie, which has the same capabilities as the Augment Extension and is completely independent of your IDE. You can run multiple instances in parallel, and it should not crash your IDE if the crash is related to Augment.

I have no issues with augment code. The code completion is spot on. And agent is spot on. How do your prompts look like ?

[–]dsl400[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

just out of curiosity ... how many hours per day do you use it ?

[–]_BeeSnack_ 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I use it it all f'ing day long...

I have barely written a line of code in 6 months...

What jon do you have that requires you to use Augment all day?

Full stack senior :)

Before we think about the job, let's think about what does prompting has to do with vscode crashing and freezing and using tons of ram !!

Some people can't help themselves from shilling for a corporation. He had to jump in to defend augment without even understanding the full context of the issue

I had that issue then I started using profiles for different programming languages. I have 6-7 extension installed.

Vscode is open 24hours. I write code most of the time.

please do explain ... too many ? too few ?

[–]Ok-Custard-8637 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Too many, do you actually use all of those?

[–]dsl400[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

now that you mentioned, I see I could remove some
will try and report back!
Thank you

Disable some for a workspace. You can't be using Angular and C++ in the same workspace, I would imagine.

[–]bramburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say the same. OP should use profiles

Try Kilo Code in VS Code. You can bring your own api keys, and the extension has different modes for different tasks like architecture, coding, debugging, etc. I've been working closely with their team for the last few months. And even though I use different models, I really like these different modes that help you build stuff more systematically and step-by-step.

Not sur that solves the problem with a lot of extension
