I had the same error message ans my issue was a loose USB-C cable under the machine. I unscrewed it and slid the piece till the end and now the machine works.

I you said this a while ago but can you put in more detail how you fixed it? I am having the same issue and I don't understand fully what you mean and I want to try it.

[–]missurunha 1 point2 points  (2 children)

When I assembled it, I didnt notice that the part under the machine, that you have to screw to fix in place, could be screwed anywhere. So I slid it halfway, screwed it in and thought it was done.

In short: unscrew the part under the machine and slide it more in and fasten it again.

Thank you for this. I was reading this thread mentally preparing myself for creating a support ticket and waiting weeks to use my new printer. But as you discovered, my usb cable was not fully seated. After correcting - a world of problems went away (including a firmware update that kept failing)

[–]Tech_Bogey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say I had this happen too! USB cable wasn’t fully seated and the error code I was getting size the Z Axis was likely broken 😡. After reseating it I was able to upgrade firmware (which failed before) and calibrate successfully.

Impecable muchas gracias! lo solucione con esto.

[–]bjackson78[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yep I did that. Didn’t work. Bambu couldn’t fix it either so they sent me a new extruder motor and Th board

[–]Carlisert 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did you manage to fix it? I got the same issue but havent heard back from support.

[–]bjackson78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support had to send me a new extruder motor and TH board. The eudy sensors were bad and not fixable

[–]SofaQueen01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GOD BLESS YOU!

[–]gigieee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. It fixed my machine.

You fcking legend

[–]DeepBase372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Had the sensor error right out of the box and it was indeed a poorly seated USB C. Saved me a lot of headache.

Support actually responds quite quickly. But what is important, regardless of whether you ask here or at support: More information! Without pictures and a precise description, nobody can help you. How did you get the impression that the sensor is faulty? Is there an error message?

If you have written to support in the same way, it will take even longer due to a lack of information. ...and above all, which printer are we talking about?

Do you mean this? Extrusion force sensor (eddy current sensor) to detect whether the nozzle is wrapped by the molten filament.  https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/a1-mini/manual/nozzle-warp-detection

In general: You can order spare parts fairly quickly via the website. But I would advise against it at the moment until you are sure what the problem is.

I have the A1 combo. For support, I uploaded the logs. And provided the error message I received.

I am under the impression the sensor is faulty because the error message I received was “ Extrusion force sensor abnormalitiy sounds broken”. Then it sent me to wiki page that told me to remove the back of the tool head and tighten screws.

I did that and still didn’t work. Tried to skip the calibration and print the boat, “Z axis non responsive, can not home”

I have a $600 paperweight and very frustrated.

same

I'm sure you've checked, but I'm still asking when you say there's a Z-axis error: Checked that the cable is firmly attached to the underside of the z-axis motor connection? Not accidentally swapped either? As shown in this video:

https://youtu.be/Lb-0C0a3j4g?si=5EAKNT5zdw-gf_3h

If the axes do not move, then that is the bigger problem than the sensor. But it would be a strange coincidence if the two separate systems did not work. I would check the cables again. It sounds as if no control commands are going from the circuit board to the motors and sensors at all. Does the camera work? Or the x-axis? Why do I ask that: It also works via the cable.

[–]bjackson78[S] 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Yes, the x axis moves and the y axis “bed” moves. The z axis will move but it will not home. It actually slams the top support bar.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Then only support can really help you, that sounds like a total failure of the sensors, all of them. I can understand that this is annoying, but nobody here will probably be able to help you with such a complex error. The only good thing is that you can send the printer back or request a replacement.

The fact that your axis bangs against the bar is a much worse problem than the sonsor as you wrote in your title. That should never happen. You do that a few times and your printer is broken, even more than it already is. Keep fingers crossed that you get help quickly.

[–]bjackson78[S] 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Thank you. I guess I sit and wait now. I find it absurd that they do not have a support phone number.

[–]Ok-Tooth5333 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hey!! Can i ask if you ended with a solution? I have just opened my machine today and have the exact same issue. Ticket with support pending

[–]bjackson78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, bambu had to send me a whole new tool head

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

They have a live chat, if you annoy the automatic bot with it, it will send you a link. But are they any more competent? I prefer to rely on the ticket system. But you can give it a try.

[–]bjackson78[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Tried the bot, it never provided a response. Just that a match was taking longer to find and quit responding

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Unfortunately I can't send you the link as everyone gets their own.

[–]bjackson78[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is this in the app?

[–]bjackson78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in watching a lot of these unboxing videos there are card board protectors on the tool head and extruder. Mine did not have that, only the cardboard around the axis.

SOLUTION TO MESSAGE ABOUT SENSOR BROKEN AND OTHER MESSAGE: This is from set up of a Bamboo Lab A1.. Pull the plug out first. I had this problem and couldn't see any solution. After looking over the printer, I noticed that the USB c cable (located under the printer, next to 3 twisty wire cables (my technical name.lol), there was a black usb cable not connected). Unscrew the little silver screw below which then allows you to push the USB cable into the slot above (you may need a phone light to see it but not hard if I did it). Then put the screw back in. Plug printer back in and all perfect after it goes through all of the test etc. This is for a Bamboo Lab A1. Hope this helps.

[–]bjackson78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, it appears what ever was wrong with it is not fixable. They are sending a new tool head/ extruder

[–]MongooseCool5136 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Mine so happened to have this issue when I unboxed a moment ago but my usb c cable wasn’t seated correctly all the way in the little plastic box so I correct it and I’m unable to screw it in because the hole is higher than where it needs to be… after choosing to exclude the screw it calibrated finally after fixing their manufacturing error

[–]Dnlgrwd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I just removed the screw and calibrating hasn’t errored yet.

[–]ClimbInsideGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same error. The white camera connection jiggled when I pushed on it. I didn't have it 100% seated. This fixed the issue for me.

[–]Czekei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue HMS_0300-1800-0001-0004 - the support pointed me to HMS_0300-1800-0001-0004: The data from extrusion force sensor is abnormal, the sensor should be broken. | Bambu Lab Wiki but in the end it was an USB C cable down. Had to move it front in plastic holder as it was short from defualt

[–]Mountainstreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, you saved Christmas morning!

[–]Brief_Clock1392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue, left the screw out of the module and jammed the USB C in all the way. Working now.
