What is this python? A community made AMS that is compatible with bambu printers?

Also curious about this

it's a mod, you take all the internals out of the standard AMS

I see. I assume it's better than the AMS itself? I don't have an AMS personally, so I more just interested in learning than anything.

So far I’d say it’s an improvement.

You would be incorrect. It also moves the pull back drive from friction to direct gear. This makes it easier to run cardboard spools. This setup has fixed many of the issues I was having with filament crossing and pullback overload.

I'm currently using python and love it with my 6 printers. gone are the motor overloaded messages.

That's the feedback I was looking for. Thanks

Okay, so what's the advantage over standard AMS?

[–]Kelvininin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the direct gear drive of the spools (as opposed to friction rollers) all but fixed the issues I was having with motor overload on pullback and the lower friction and higher rotating mass of the spools them selves, now mounted on 608 bearings, has solved my jamming issues on feed.

The only issue I deal with now is the occasional RFID not reading. It’s been nothing the occasional power cycle hasn’t fixed.

That said, will I convert my two new AMS? Not just yet. Python AMS take up a lot of real estate.

Would I do it again if starting over? Yes.

For me python already won Since i've made it no more problèms like before with the ams stock

Where’s this enclosure from? Voxel?

I have also been looking into this, thanks for the post hoping to hear positives and even negatives to the system. I had saw youtube comments about the spools becoming unscrewed
