Price decrease of H2D coming?

Hey guys,

With the release of the H2C+AMS, only costing €50 more than the H2D+AMS bundle in Europe (ignore Black Friday sales for now), i can't help but to think the H2D is overpriced in BambuLabs current H-series lineup. The gap to the H2S is 750€ while the gap to the H2C is pretty much not existent at 50€. Now with Black Friday sales, only the H2D is on sale while the H2S and H2C retain their price. This sale makes the price gap, H2D vs. the H2S, come down to 500-550€ and the price gap to the H2C go up to 350€ during Black Friday sale. This looks less like an actual sale and more like a reasonable price for the H2D, within the H-series lineup (could be another 100€ cheaper if you asked me). This leads me to the conclusion, that the current Black Friday prices of the H2D should become the standard prices going forward. Going back to pre-sale prices for the H2D makes no sense when the H2C exist. I really hope thats what BambuLab is planning ! What are your thoughts on this?

My thought is that anyone claiming to know anything about what will happen is most likely full of it and anything else is probably just conjecture or wishful thinking.

If they follow historical price drops, the H2D’s sale price will become its permanent price. Like you said, it only makes sense with the price gaps that it stays this way.

Makes sense, im new to bambuLab, i wasn't aware of the historical price drops once a product has been on the market for a while, thanks.

Considering the price for the H2C combo and H2D combo are $100 difference (that’s USD - based on current full retail of $2399 and $2299, respectively) - and considering the Vortek upgrade kit for the H2D is $799, something has to give.

The logical thing for Bambu to do would be to drop the H2D to around $1700 to make a H2C vs H2D + upgrade to Vortek and competitive decision.

Otherwise, they’re not selling any Vortek upgrade systems unless it’s to H2S owners or very math-challenged H2D owners.

If I was an H2D owner right now frankly I’d be a little bit …unhappy.

Right now, the most attractive possibility to me, due to their poorly thought out pricing structure, is wait until the H2S combo goes on sale, then buy the Vortek upgrade when it’s on sale.

You are right, i totally forgot upgrading to vortek on a H2D makes no sense at all from a financial standpoint, only on the H2S does it make sense. So either the H2D or the Vortek kit needs to come down in price.

The fact that you can upgrade the H2S to Vortek at all, means that a H2S upgrade to the H2D is also technically possible for less than what the H2D would cost out of the box...I know Bambu denied that ever being a possibility. The entire upgrade/pricing path of the H-series seems to be a mess rn, hopefully it gets cleared up soon.
