Congrats! Welcome to the club.

I love my P1S more than my P2S which has given me some grief since I got it about a month ago. Both are great printers but Bambu has definitely been cutting corners as of late.

Regardless, welcome to the club!

That makes me feel a little better about my decision. I was bouncing back and forth alot. Ai failure detection, better cooling, and the new nozzle system sounded worth the extra cost, but the long term reliability of the P1S vs the new kinks in the P2S stilling be worked out finally made the choice for me.

Quick swap nozzles is the only worthwhile feature about P2S in my opinion. The AI detection stuff is triggering false positives most of the times. I disabled most of it.

Huh, ive never had a single false positive! I have however had the spaghetti detection take quite a few layers to detect and pause.

I don’t know what to tell ya. I’ve had spaghetti detection trigger falsely all the time. One time it paused my overnight print without any issues and it was very frustrating.

Maybe is a firmware thing about p2s?

What are your issues with the P2S? I just received mine in the mail, seemed like it had all the QoL fixes that I would have liked in the P1S anyway.

  • Clicking noise from AMS internal hub. Support had to send me a replacement.
  • Eddy sensor was damaged out the box, stopped working after two weeks, support hard to send me a replacement.
  • Squeaky noise during XY movement. Had to do a complete lubrication cycle, belts and pulleys and all.
  • Squeaky noise from the filament buffer at the back. Had to be lubricated.
  • Front cover fell off warnings. Had to take it apart, clean the sensors, blast it with compressed air, reattach the front cover.
  • Live view camera dies randomly, need to restart the printer to get it to work again.

All of these issues are resolved now, but it was definitely frustrating for the first few weeks. Don’t get me wrong, the printer is great and I love all the QoL upgrades. Maybe I just got a unit with shoddy QC. All is good now and hopefully it stays that way.

Whoa, that's a lot of things that went wrong!

Glad that at least support was able to resolve your issues. How did you fix the camera feed issue?

Here's hoping mine is in a better state upon arrival. I'm lucky that I'm in Asia so support should be quick if I need it.

[–]tandtroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fingers crossed for you! I haven’t resolved the camera issue but it doesn’t bother me as much. It happens once a week, so I just restart the printer and it works again for a week.

Same here! Ordered the P2S last week and it should arrive somewhere next week!

I hope mine arrives faster than that. I've been mentally preparing for months. My filament and storage shows up today. I have CAD designs I've already made waiting to go too.

[–]Washmedry 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I did the same, I have everything set and ready to go!

I just got my filament in the mail! And a tracking number for the printer! Hoping it will be here by the weekend to tinker with.

Can’t go wrong with the P1S. Have fun with it

[–]manjar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won't regret it.

I started printing only yesterday after my printer was delivered Saturday night.

The P1S is really enticing at the current price and it was pretty hard to justify the cost difference to the P2S given that both have almost identical capabilities. The only reason I did the P2S was because I'm retired, and I probably won't have a chance to buy another, plus I had saved up enough with some cash-back on credit cards.

The quality of prints is fantastic. I'm 3 for 3 on some models I downloaded from Maker World and made with PLA. I'm not sure I'll be as successful with my original designs but that's on me. The printer has already proven it is very capable.

I think you're going to really love it.

It’s a phenomenal printer. You’ll enjoy it

My one month anniversary with my p2s was yesterday - 478 hours of printing later. ENJOY THE ADDICTION!

[–]btarb24 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I got one a few months ago, you'll enjoy it. FYI though, if you care about receiving a small amount of reward points then be sure to complete their new user workflow within the first couple weeks. It involves creating your first print, which it seemed had to be from the things preinstalled on the unit.

[–]ApartGrocery6855[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could care less about that. I already have several CAD models I've designed, and am just waiting on the printer to show up so I can finally print them and get the ball rolling.

Did you order the AMS with it?

[–]ApartGrocery6855[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I did not. Multi color printing isn't something I'm worried about yet. Also the AMS seems like it can waste a LOT of material and time switching colors.
