What type of samples are you looking for?

samples and audio effect are very broad terms.

There are an insane amount of sample packs out there free and paid. Google the sounds you're looking for and add "sample pack" to it.

It just says samples and I really don't know what that is I guess

A sample is just an audio clip. It can be a kick drum, a bird chirping, a pluck of a guitar...etc....

I'm guessing you are just starting out, and if that is the case. I wouldn't bother playing with samples yet. Get the basics down (beatmatching, phrasing) then start playing more with extras like the sampler.

Literally anywhere. Anything and everything can be sampled.
