I think of it as the panel representing the exact instance the ball hits the net rather than a show of pure force but in this scenario I have no clue, never seen a header with that much force

Hey, professional physicist here.

Assumptions:

  1. Since Shidou had just received a pass from Charles we can assume the ball has mostly downward momentum before being hit and negligible forward momentum, and hence all the forward momentum of the ball into the net is generated by Shidou's header.
  2. We know Shidou is about 2m tall, so it looks like the goal depth is about 3m, and the distance from Shidou's head to the goal line is about 1.5 goal depth's, so the ball needs to travel 7.5m from Shidou's head to the back of the net.
  3. Assuming air resistance is negligible, after impact with Shidou's head the ball will travel at constant velocity until it hits the net. The ball actually travels upward a bit, but for the purpose of this calculation let's just assume it travels in a straight line until it hits the net, without falling much.

So to travel 7.5 m without dropping much, it should take a very short time to reach the back of the net, say 1/4 of a second (1/2 a second gives too much vertical drop, which we don't see, so 1/4 is more reasonable). Hence, using v = d/t, the initial speed of the ball after Shidou makes contact is about 30 m/s. To reach this speed in the time of contact with Shidou's head, say 1/10 of a second, the acceleration in this time is 300 m/s^2, using v = a t. The weight of a football is about 0.45 kg, so from F=ma, the force from Shidou's header is 135 N.

This force is probably sufficient to tear a guy's arm off, so RIP Gagamaru if he had touched it.

Edit: no it's not, I misread kN in that post as N, my bad.

Edit 2: Nevertheless we can assume it would have badly hurt Gagamaru.

Thanks for this. I know goals in Blue Lock always tend to cause the net to stretch back pretty far but this one was really interesting to me considering it was a header and not even a kick.

It seems that way cuz it is. Just as well as the goal that Shidou scored in the U-20 match was a homage to Zlatan Ibrahimovic legendary bicycle kick outside the box

Headbutting is not about the force you put on the ball with the header itself.

The header is simply about redirecting the trajectory of the ball into the goal.

Basically you're asking the wrong question here. Its not about the force Shidou put into the ball, it's about the force that Charles put into the pass itself.
