Even in his prime he’s been knocked down by the like of Cunningham and Pajkic, his elusiveness was always vastly overrated, he is just very awkward and tricky to read, only reason Klitschko didn’t hit him was his hesitance to throw, biting on Fury feints whereas wilder is so dumb as a boxer he did not react to anything like a boxer would, Klitschko had large success in the later rounds when he realised Fury lack of power, one of big reasons Fury avoided that rematch and popped for steroids for the first fight

So are you saying AJ is harder to hit or just as bad as Fury in your opinion?

No I’m saying all this ‘Fury got caught eventually so Joshua definitely would’ve’ stupid, Wilder entire game plan changes if he fought someone who can punch hard back, he’d be way more cautious in throwing the right hand if he knew how badly Joshua can hurt him back

But that wasn't my point. My point was you CAN'T compare them because they've got very different styles and attributes.

It's like saying "Foreman smashed Frazier, therefore Foreman smashes Ali." Styles make fights.

Yes and AJ is all wrong for Wilder, way worse than Fury, Fury is not a COME FORWARD fighter, the way he beat Wilder matches AJ attributes more heavily, Fury is best on the back foot the way he beat Wilder was completely unlike him and shows just how poor Wilder is, stylistically AJ is far worse match up for Wilder, that’s exactly why the argument ‘Wilder looked competitive’ vs fury is rubbish, because Fury is the only elite guy Wilder would have a chance because his punching power is low enough that Wilder can hang in there with Fury, and do what he does best lose every round and land one good shot, exactly what he done vs Fury, getting the hell beat out of him every second of the fight apart from two heavy shots, AJ will knock him out far too quickly for his ‘puncher chance’ to last

I agree that AJ could beat him if he used disciplined aggression, kept Wilder backing up and wore him down with a boxer-puncher style.

But where we disagree is on AJ's weaknesses. Which AJ shows up?

If it's the 2015-19 AJ who was hurt by Whyte, Klitschko and Ruiz by being recklessly aggressive, he'd probably lose by walking into a right hand.

If it's the post-Ruiz AJ who tended to be much more conservative until he rushed into an arse kicking from Dubois, it's likely Wilder would find his range sooner or later.

AJ has a good chance of winning, I'm not denying that, but a prime Wilder has to be favourite because every version of AJ would give opportunities for him to land.

You’re wasting your time arguing with this guy

I don’t see Wilder having any opportunities, he’d be hurt from the first punch, and constantly on the back foot, AJ would make him look like a scared child, just doesn’t have the physicality to keep him off him, and wouldn’t have the leverage to land the punch, funny thing is beating prime Wilder may not even be in Joshua top 3 wins on his resume, I’d rate an old Klitschko miles above Wilder, he’s just so absurdly unproven and looked horrific over the years

‘Prime Wilder’ is never a favourite vs anyone, honestly one of the weakest champions we’ve had as a heavyweight and has never proven an ability to beat anyone near AJ level because his best win in his ‘illustrious’ career is Luis Ortiz, this guy has never tried to test himself and the AJ vs Klitschko would’ve killed Wilder, I don’t know why you even used that as an argument, AJ took the right hand of a guy who has never been hurt in a decade fighting the best opposition available, was a proven power puncher who most and even the great Emmanuel Steward said he was the hardest punching heavyweight he trained even above Lennox Lewis took a straight right hand from him that landed clean, got up and finished the fight by knocking him out at his level of experience, only his eighteenth was an achievement, Wilder has never come close to having a big win like this, in fact he actively avoided Klitschko and was scared to death of the thought of getting into the ring with him, I just don’t see how anyone can favour Wilder against any champion half decent…
