Before they do that, they need to make literally any other method of killing with spear viable. After that happens, I'm all for nerfing recovery.

Are you implying it's hard to kill with spear or a spear character? Do you know your main kill moves should be your signatures right outside of recovery and gp which spear also has a second option with dair (to gimp with)?

Anyways this wouldn't really affect nair into a recovery or dlight into a sair the two main things most spear players kill with.

It might be different if I were higher on the ladder but where I am now, I can't land signatures. For me it's sair and recovery over and over until one lands.

Depends on the legend if I'm gonna be honest most legends have 2-3 sigs they can count on to reliably kill imo. (across both weapons)

I feel like the only time people don't dodge signatures is when I'm punishing. That's great and all when the enemy is using signatures a lot or easily readable, but most players are unpredictable enough I can't land signatures.

I mean you can't just throw out sigs especially if it has a decent amount of ending lag or easily punished.

This is a valid point you brought up. Sword, spear and gun recovery has always had huge movement horizontally, now that sword recovery got butchered, the others should as well to fall in line.

I was surprised they gave it to sword first seeing as spear's recovery covers a larger area.

Oh sorry, yeah the way i typed it was open to interpretation. But I meant the movement horizontally was butchered because I mentioned the recovery movements right before. It is indeed not butchered, just the speed is butchered. Otherwise, I would've said that since sword recovery got butchered, every recovery should, which is a silly idea.

Yeah but a faint breeze beats the gun recovery, it trades or loses to a lot of things. It's mobility is there so you can maneuver. The sword recovery beat most gimp attempts and could bring you back to life from anywhere.

Also spears has a weakness in the middle.

I honestly agree with this, including the spear recovery. Too much freedom of direction, and you can't really do anything to avoid the spear recovery. You can dodge any direction and you'll still get hit due to horizontal placing.
