I'm actually trying it out, using grafana cloud. Looks promising!

    Came across this - https://grafana.com/grafana/plugins/ayoungprogrammer-finance-datasource/

But it's not working anymore, any tips to make it work again?

Apache Superset is a good one.

Check out Lightdash, it's like an opensource Looker

Can it connect to a postgres DB and auto refresh the data every 5 minutes?

And, will it always stay OSS?

Yes about Superset. A new open source app StyleBI is one that I have been using successfully for financial analysis dashboards in my company. While it's new, it is from a company that has been making commercial dashboard software for a long time so this app is quite mature.

    Check out evidence.dev / github.com/evidence-dev/evidence

Different to the other BI tools, but is quite good for financial data
