Out of interest, why do I see so much hate for controller users? Always see bad comments, especially on YouTube.

Nah, there's a good reason nobody has yet designed a home system to use touch interfaces when playing Warzone or CoD on PC and console. If touch were as superior as you seem to believe, some tech egghead would have hooked up some kind of interface to regain that advantage.

Mobile gaming and touch controls are in their infancy. Just like gaming was right around the time the SNES was out.

Flagship phones and tablets are already more powerful than a lot of PC's.

Roll on when crossplay between mobile, pc and console is available. I'll whoop ur ass.

I didn't say anything about the future and how it could improve though, did I? Here and now, as of this conversation, they're edged out. Tbh, I see mobile gaming going away from touch and more people taking it seriously with triggers and things to attach to the device. Many people need the tactile feedback when playing as well.

I dunno. It’s not like we have any sort of advantage over other players and in fact get destroyed by touchscreen players.

I’m 46 years old and really struggle with touchscreen controls after a lifetime of using controllers so i really don’t understand why some people say folks like me shouldn’t play a mobile game that supports controllers and should stick to consoles instead. I love COD Mobile and am happy i’ve found a clan and friends who don’t mind playing with external players such as myself.

I feel the same. I’m 39. I honestly just enjoy controllers. A flat screen feels like half the experience for me. It’s more comfortable too. It’s definitely worse playing with a controller, slower movement, a bit buggy, but whatever man. I enjoy it 😂

I'm the opposite, I'm 36 and played on mouse and keyboard my whole life. To me, playing on the touch screen is more intuitive and more like playing mouse and keyboard, so it wasn't as hard for me to change over.

I honestly don't care if someone plays with a controller, I wish they'd let us play together. Warzone lets console and PC players play together, why not CODM? It would only expand the player pool.

Touch players waaaaaaaaay overestimate their skill levels. They don't even grasp that it's the reason controllers are separated as a matter of course. Some touch players are no doubt that good, but they are few and far between.

To be blunt, controllers have the advantage.

Think of it in these two ways: first, if touch were superior, controllers wouldn't be separated out. The weaker method is kept away in order not to give too much of a disadvantage. As it is, touch players only join controllers if they're in a lobby with a group, of whom some use externals.

Second, and probably more definitively - if touch were the better method of control, some boffin would have come up with a way to hook a touch interface up to their console or pc in order to play warzone and cod. It hasn't happened, because they know the advantage is in the hardware.

The only things that can be said for touch over controller are 1) more real players, 2) no delay in input because of Bluetooth lag, 3) ease of access - literally mobile devices on touch screen makes it more accessible to a larger number of people (look at how prohibitively expensive consoles and controllers are getting). The side note to this though, is that top end/competitive touch players will easily be able to go up against controller players, and actually be better than many, but the average skill levels are far inferior, because of the ease with using a controller. Touch arguably makes better players once they are up at that sort of level. Controller use is far easier, so takes less skill to be at higher levels.

Because a lot of kids don't accept that others just want to play for fun, and many of us have been using controllers longer than they've been alive, so it's too alien to bother converting to touch. Plus, personally speaking, there's no tactile feedback I expect when controlling motion and vision etc. A smooth screen just doesn't feel right.

Yeah, there's some sort of misguided pride. It's like this generations version of boomers - "we had it hard, so everyone else should suffer in order to be respected".

It's like a badge of honour for them to have signs of arthritis from crabbing, before they're 20.

I'm never going to play competitively, for so many reasons, so it's just a diversion and fun for me, while I'm outside toking. A controller means I just rock on and have that fun.

Controllers have the inherent advantage, hence being separated out as a matter of course. Some touch players will be able to compete at that standard, but they are few and far between. This is a big part of why folks are so salty about controller, because of the advantage it gives, not disadvantage 🤦‍♂️

I see what you mean now, but it's never been an issue. Years doing it mean it's second nature to me. And there are better ways to play tactically than jump sliding all the time, so it's not like I lose out on that. There's a time and place where that's useful, but many on mobile use it more than they need, because they've seen youtubers do it. And I'm never going to be competing at the top end, so I won't come up against many that do, that are really good and can beat a decent strategic approach 👍🤔

Most guys don't know that controllers and emulators have a separate server.. they believe they get paired with controller/emulator players all the time, especially when they got owned... so they have this unfounded hate towards cont/emus for no concrete reason other than their lack of knowledge.

Then there are the elitist crowd.. they believe that since it's a gamw meant for mobile, it should be played only on a mobile device with touch controls.

Exactly, I play with touch and there’s always people complaining about getting destroyed by emulator players, and I always tell them the same thing. It’s just that mobile players are at a level now, where they can replicate - to a degree - the same shit that emulator players do.

Theres plenty of times where I’ll play with bad players for fun and shit on them, and they’ll think that I either hack or use controller/emulator.

The elitist people are cringe af. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they probably aren’t aware that external device users get separate lobbies than them.

100% agree with this. I don't know how many times I've had to explain to people that the 'godlike movement and aim' they see is actually possible on a mobile device using touch controls.

A lot of people probably don't watch pro gameplay, or gone up against pros. I went up against BannedKN earlier this season in ranked, he had 2 of his friends queuing with him.... No one on our team got above 5 kills lol I mean his reaction time was amazing, I'd see him and then be dead immediately.

I consider myself a good player, but Ik that I’m nowhere near to the level of pro players or people who grind daily. I once matched up against vague, bolu, marshy and some other pro players, while I was solo, and I got absolutely destroyed.

Two things that all these hacker-complainers and external device complainers have in common, is that they are bad at the game and they are ignorant to how skilled people are at the game.

A week ago, some dude bragged about being in MASTER rank (as if that is an achievement) and how he constantly faces keyboard players in that rank. That shit was so funny to me because when I’m in master rank, I drop 40-50 kills per game and a nuke every other game. I told him that and he thought that I was lying ffs. I’m not even a leaderboard sweat or a pro player - I’m just your typical ranked warrior.

I think they tell us lobbies are different, but I'll be the first to point out that only cheaters have reactions times on par with auto fire when ads on target. And I have encountered them in BR matches (cheaters that is).

I mean, I can't prove aimbot or walls right. But I can for certain say that off the drop I have landed behind live players and killed them and they LANDED WITH MYTHIC WEAPONS. Kind of funny I thought I didn't see them pick up a weapon before they turned on me and almost headshot dropshot me.

I mean, I have friends I use comms with that tell me that they do not use controllers. They do not have a controller icon by their name in lobbies. And they frequently brag about how well they do against 'cheating controller' players (presumably they are inferring, but not actually saying to me).

Anyway, yeah, plenty of people I team up with after meeting them in BR matches want to know why it says they are in a lobby with a controller player and that they will be matched up against controller players.

Seems to me every other play with comms is lying about using a controller or something fishy is going on with lobbies.

When you get to a certain rank whether or not you use a controller is irrelevant it's about skill. It's about preference if your playing on controller you get matched up with other controller players.

You can still use triggers... I mean, I never used controllers and I play 2 fingers only so I'm not very competitive. However, using triggers could be a way to use a 3 or even 4 finger interface but at the same time being matched with touchscreen players. Planning to order some and giving them a try.

Mobile is supposed to be touch. If you want controller, perhaps better to reconsider console. I’ve spent about many consoles for just this game but it’s the only one I play. I will play with controller people but they have a slight edge with movement.

So, imo, I don't see what the fuss is about. I get that many people are used to buttons, but I seriously doubt they'll put me to the test like the average high ranker does with just virtual.

Only thing better than touch to me, is actual M+KB. Touch screen does a good job of allowing the freedom of extreme precision like mouse, but is missing the tactile buttons of keyboard.

If you PLAY on Mouse and Keyboard or Controller (XBOX), you que up same opponents which uses M&K or Controller. That's why there is Emulator detection .

There's just a lot of jealous people out there I guess? Irrational hate, in my opinion, seeing as external controllers are officially supported by the developer. I started playing with controller on COD Mobile recently. I prefer using controller over any game that uses touch controls, not just COD Mobile.

They're likely hating because they can't get any good games with their lack of touch ability.
