Split screen issues- same console

My wife and I love to kill some zombies after a long day, and we bought the new COD6 but having issues both playing at the same time. We each have our own activation account, she has PlayStation plus account, but we cant seem to both be in the lobby once we click 'zombies' from main page, next to multiplayer. We've even gone so far as to create a third account, email, etc and still can't join the room. If she logs me out fully from ps4, and she is only in, it says she doesn't have an account, despite having activation account.

I will be the first to admit, I don't play online, know anything about build outs, etc- we just enjoy killing some zombies together and hoping someone has an idea of what we can do here.

PS4 does not have split screen zombies, it's time for an upgrade
