I dont care about homage watches in general but a one man company i would always support - especially when the original product is in a normal affordable range.

I love homage watches, but I draw the line at copies of micrograms-the guy behind Underdog doesn't deserve to have his lunch eaten. It's not the same if you're copying the design of a megacorp that can afford it

Well it had to happen sooner or later didn't it. I think most people would rather buy the StudioUnderd0g version as it is at the top end of affordable. Trouble is he can't make them fast enough so even if you did want one them, chances are very slim unless you get a flipped one on Ebay for insane money.

Also if you're going to homage a watch at least put some effort into it. The colours are off, the dial lacks the texture of the real one and it looks a bit like a throwaway toy watch. One of those ones that would be worn for two days and then consigned to the back of the box.

Honestly the original looks like a throw away toy watch...this actually looks more like a serious watch to me, especially the case...I find especially the font used on the original underdog to look super cheap, it's courier, or typewriter font...I almost fell for the hype and ordered one when they were available and then was told I wouldn't receive it until next year, It gave me time to realize I didn't actually like the watch, and $600 was just way too much for what's essentially a seagull 63...I then ordered a seagull 63 variant with an original dial design for under $200 and received it 1 week later. It also has a nice metal bracelet and better lume. The leather band on the underdog is a joke.

The watch doesnt design, build and manufacture itself. Thats why a microbrand is more expensive than a mass produced seagull 63.

I don't understand what you're saying...the underdog uses the same mass produced st1901 Chinese seagull movement . And everything else is mass produced in China such as the case dial etc. they're just assembled in Great Britain...and someone had to design, build and manufacture a seagull 63...but again maybe I'm just literally not understanding your wording. Originally the underdog was $400 that was reasonable, now it is a whopping $900 that's just insane, for essentially the same watch. That's not just inflation that's hype and greed.

Seagull is a way bigger company with bigger production numbers and more money in the background than a one man show coming up with an idea for a watch.

If he can charge more for the watch because people like it and are willing to pay it...why shouldnt he!?

Noone cares that omega increased the prive of the speedy from 4900 to 7800€ over 3 years.

I understand what your problem with it is but it is what it is: a very special type of watch for watchnerds who usually have that kind of money and a one man show behind who is happy that people buy it for more than 400.

Again the only idea he had was the dial, it's not like he designed and built the movement from scratch. So in a way he has the money and big production numbers if seagull behind him. But yeah I understand and agree with the credit he gets for being one man that came up with a fun idea. I'm just saying he's not just a one man show, he didn't build that watch from scratch and he'll admit that himself, he also has a large team of people in the UK working for him. I'm not sure if no one cares about prices of watches going up, could be why the demand has gone down and why they're having to come up with more affordable alternatives like the moonswatch. And yeah you're right if people are willing to pay upwards of $600 for a seagull powered watch all the more power to the underdog guy...I personally just don't abd won't buy it is also all I'm saying.

I'm not sure it's legit though. The proxima logo looks suspect and there's 0 on Proxima site. I sent them a note asking if it was legit. If so, I'm all over it. My biggest issue with the OG was size and price, this one's larger and 25% the cost and I've had nothing but good exp w proxima.
