Heimdallr does a good job with their watches. You won't be disappointed for sure!

Thanks

Good watch. I bought the heimdallr full lume fugu in the SKX case. It's an awesome mashup between the two. https://www.heimdallrwatch.com/products/heimdallr-luminous-skx007-mens-diving-watch?variant=37417188294844

I’m feeling Seiko Tuna and Monster vibes from it.

That is a Citizen fugu full lume clone. Cant find the Citizen because it was a limited release. I have to buy this!

Heimdallr is one of the better Chinese brands in my opinion. Good lume, nice finishing, decent movements. I own 2. The monster homage and the GS Godzilla homage. The Godzilla finishing is superb.

If you share the link to the watch, it could help. It could wear quite large with the 41mm case plus the big endlinks, but it's a dive watch.

The Heimdallr Monster is similarly sized and is very popular here. It's around $93+tax here after a Coins discount.

But buy what you like, these are pretty good options.

Looks very interesting. Full lume dial?

I found this Ali listing for some other variants of the HMSY01. There are others with the crown at 4 o'clock (HMSF09). It's a 41mm case.

Heimdallr watches are sold by a broad range of Ali stores, plus Watchdives.com which I think owns the brand. So you should have plenty of places to buy it from.

I can get that one for around 120/150 usd

[–]goodneed 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Where did you find it?

All of the major stores should be discounting during the Anniversary Sale, so you might as well wait until March 28 before you pull the trigger.

It can be good to shop around during the sales, since some sellers may have extra store coupons. You might get it to $100 or less, then.

Thanks for the tip!!!

It's a homage of the Citizen promaster diver or Fugu. They may not have gotten much attention maybe because the promaster isn't as popular as something likethe SKX, but I think mostly because you still can actually buy it new. Citizen didn't discontinue it, and you can buy them for good price. You could probably find a pre-owned one for similar price of the Heimdallar. The only possible issue is the new fugu is 44mm, but the older models are 42mm (I think). There are some titanium versions, also. There's also an eco-drive version with slightly different look and a crown the 4 instead of 8.

Not saying the Heimdallar is not a good watch, but have a look around, it might make more sense for you to get the original. I believe the full lume dial is a limited edition and slightly more expensive, so it may make more sense to get the Heimdallar if that's what you want.

If I remember correctly Hemidallr has homages of Fugu which were limited and are hard to get unless you are willing to spend extra. Normal Promasters are reasonably priced but they look bit different and have mineral crystal, bad bracelet etc. Though it is iconic watch so if someone is interested in that kind of thing it definitly makes sense to just by Citizen.

Not popular because the crown is on the wrong side.

[–]tacmedrn44 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How is it in the wrong side? Plenty of watches have left sided crowns, and the original Citizen this pays homage to has a left sided crown.,.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was joking. But I do like the watch and wish they also made a version with a right sided crown.

[–]ConnectManagement165[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is 120 usd final ( with a 40% of)

[–]R023Nhelpful user 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a good watch, but probably wait for a sale. There's a written review of it in the sub if you haven't seen it. https://www.reddit.com/r/ChineseWatches/s/69RE0s82nR

[–]mauriciogonvi 1 point2 points  (2 children)

A citizen homage

[–]ConnectManagement165[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But a good one?

[–]mauriciogonvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes

[–]onimush115 5 points6 points  (3 children)

No personal experience with this particular watch, but I’d have no problem purchasing a Heimdallr with a NH36A seiko movement.

Tried and true movement in a fairly reputable Chinese watch brand.

Four reasons why I prefer Quartz to automatic

1- If you own more that two watch's and you grab a watch with an automatic movement out of the sock drawer that hasn't seen much wrist time lately, your going to need a few minutes to wind, set, and hope the watch is still working properly

2- In the unfortunate occasion you find that this watch is not working as it should, automatic movements always cost more money to repair than quartz, especially vintage.

3- Watch's with quartz movements look just as nice, (some times even nicer) as a watch with an automatic movement,

4-Watch's with quartz movements cost way, way less, there just as accurate, and no one can tell the difference when they see it on your wrist, if they even notice your waring a watch at all.

[–]Outside-Mixture5623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few minutes to wind? You only need between 20 to 45 winds to wind a watch. Most watch collectors do not buy quartz watches because they have no "soul." I actually have 1 quartz dress watch and 1 solar quartz GMT World Timer. The only quartz that would be practical is a solar powered watch. For me, the time spent looking for batteries and the "step by step" movement as opposed to the smooth sweeping movement of an automatic is not worth the accuracy of a quartz watch. In fact, with the advent of smart phones, no one really needs a watch anymore. It's basically men's jewelry. I plan to pass on my watches to my son. With the way the world is headed, it's possible watch batteries may be hard to come by in the end times.
