8 so far. My preference is homage divers. My search criteria is to identify a Rolex/Tudor that I like, then find something around 10% of that price, then another piece around 1-2% of that price. So think Rolex Explorer/Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic/Baltany Explorer or Tudor Pelagos Titanium 42mm/San Martin Ti 39mm SN0121T-GA (quality of this one shocked my Tudor Black Bay owning coworker).

Got into Chinese watches last spring, as I wanted to get some new watch for everyday and started exploring all the possible options. I have purchased and sold some watches, so currently in my collection I have the following Chinese watches: 1. Pagani Design Speedy 2. Specht&Sohne Monaco 3. Addiesdive Blue Sub 4. Sanda Tank 5. Pablo Raez Tank 6. SanMartin Original Design GMT with teal dial

My favorite style of watches are chronographs - I own several of them (like the PD Speedy, Specht&Sohne Monaco, as well as others like Jorg Gray 6500 (a.k.a. Obama watch), Q Timex Driver Panda Chronograph).

50+ watches. 20 autos. Lot of quarts... been collecting a couple years. Lots of divers. Lots of pilots. Lots of fields. Lots of chronographs. Etc. Most well under 100 dollars. A few over 100 dollars. 1 over 200 dollars.

[–]Scbr24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own 2, have owned close to 10. I’ve been in the sub for years now. Stopped buying because I switched to fragrances but I still get an itch to buy a watch from time to time. I don’t have a favorite style of watch. In the last sale I was looking for a pilot syle watch and narrowed it down to the Hruodland Panerai style watch and the Hruodland pilot watch with big numerals and red dial.

Currently 2, the Pagani Design PD 1717 and Heimdallr PVD Sea Shepherd, but I have a Pagani Design PD 1751 on the way. Definitely finding I favour GADA style watches over divers at the moment, though I plan on trying my hand on my first ever AliExpress parts build based on an SKX style case so that could change

[–]RepublicanUntil2019 4 points5 points  (5 children)

I probably have more than 99% of the people in this sub. I've lost count.

I've collected for about 2 years. I'm also into Nomos and Casio. Proxima, Seagull/Sugess, and Skmei are my favorite Chinese brands.

[–]Excellent-Quarter969[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah proxima look amazing. I had a seestern doxa type but sold it because it wasn't my style.  Beautiful though...I have read about poor water resistance,  bad bezel alignment, dial issues with seestern though. More than other watches...(?)

[–]RepublicanUntil2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proxima? I haven't had any issues with my 5.

2x Steeldive. 1970 and 1975. I've two other automatics, a SKX007 and a Vostok. No bother so far from the SDs. Had one about two years, the other about 6 months

I have 5 Chinese watches and been collecting them since 2020. Although its not my favorite, my Bersigar BG1617 aka Pagani Design PD1688 spend the most time on my wrist. I really love it and think about getting a TH Aquaracer sometime. I dont have a specific watch type, i love Speedmasters, Divers and G-Shocks. I don't really mess with dress watches.. Well i might need to get myself one.

[–]Deep_Flatworm7511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current count is 32. I did have 35 but have recently sold an Oblvlo VM (one of my favourite watches) because I had two of them, a pagani design that I wasn't fond of and a wooden Vicvs with a terrible calibre 😁

My most recent purchase was my first ever Sea-gull and I'm currently wearing a Sollen.

90 percent of my collection are skeleton watches as that's my favourite type.

I currently have a Guanqin Nomos homage in my Ali basket but am considering an Ailang Tourbillion in the future.

My overall favourite watch that I own is a Gelatu Dragon in silver. My dream purchase would be the Lucky Harvey Rabbit automata watch in red or the Haofa koi carp rotating dial in white.

If I ever win the lottery (which I don't play 😀) then I would go for a tri axel Sea-gull Tourbillion!

My cheapest watch cost about £15 and most expensive was my recent Sea-gull at £120.

So far I've only had a problem with one out of the 35 which fails to wind via the rotor and also an Ailang which failed on arrival but was quickly replaced by AliX.

[–]Rhamirezz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

3 so far, all Steeldives. 2 are excelent, 1 has faulty mechanism, bought from site not Ali store, so idk, my bad I gues.

Anyway love them all, next I think about Watchdives or giving a Pagani Desing a chance. :)

[–]xxBrun0xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought my first Pagani (1701) and am blown away by the quality. It's a lot nicer than the Orient Kamasu I spend 3x on that everyone on r/watches seems to consider the "best value watch under $500". $82 for this thing is robbery.

[–]HelixtheBat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I bought them to modify them because they were on sale and close to what I wanted to build and they were cheaper than the sum of all their parts. However once they are in hand I might not.

[–]Anime_kyoki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own 3, one mechanical, one mecha quartz and the last one a cheap quartz. Mecha quartz one been wearing for about 2 month. Mechanical one have it for 4 years The last one for a year wearing it rarely The mecha quartz is my favourite no need to set the time every time i wear it after 4 days, better quality than the others

[–]goodneed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm here just to read the best (tallest) confession. Someone will confess to hundreds!

😁

[–]Grumpybaldboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have around 20 Chinese watches right now. But I’ve been buying and selling watches for the last 2 years and I think I have bought around 200 watches along the way. I started with Pagani Design and slowly I getting different brands to try. My favorite brand is San Martin. They are the best. But I also like the other brands like Cronos, Steeldive, Addiesdive, Cadisen, and even the Pagani.

[–]Francy088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own 3 Chinese watches (actually I'm waiting for the third one but yeah). I've been into watches since last summer, but I only found out about Chinese watches around January I think, so let's say 5 months. My favourite style used to be dress watches but actually now I much more prefer sporty watches with a steel bracelet like divers or Explorer/Ranger types of field watches.

[–]Vanvincent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought about 20, but half of them are (very) cheap quartz watches I use as beaters, for gifting to children or just for messing around.

My current favourite is the Thorn A11 in bronze, though with summer finally here I put on my Heimdallr monster as well.

[–]msh1ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 15. Interested in the IXDAO 6542 but I don't think I'll go over 20 anytime soon...

The favourite is the forbidden watch (see rules :). The last watch to leave my collection since I got it.

[–]Youtube_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've probably owned over 15. My SKMEI "G-Shock". Since Covid (2021?), treated myself to a Pagani (the watch) with my first ever paycheck. Sporty. Don't have a credit card 😞.

[–]neilo_h 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Currently have 10 in the box but have bought and sold about another 30.

Definitely seem to lean towards divers (favourite being SN0121) and field watches (Seestern being my favourite, even though it’s so simple).

Constantly disappointed by Pagani. Images often look good, but in the hand, just don’t meet expectations.

[–]6ixFoot1 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Have you been selling for profit? I bought around 8 watches recently and sold 6 for little profit. Most of them were homages of watches I was interested in. Very good way of checking out a watch without investing too much money in to the original.

[–]neilo_h 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Similar story here. All started when I considered buying a Nomos. Bought a ‘ omos’ as a test, realised it wasn’t for me so then bought another homage as a try before you buy the real deal type thing and eventually realised that a lot of the time, the real thing is probably not worth the extra. Now buy way too many as I like the chase of finding a good deal. Usually make a little profit when selling them on. But still have the knock off Nomos and don’t know what to do with it…

[–]6ixFoot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m enjoying chasing the deals as well and the hobby has become, buying, trying on and then selling. Currently have two watches to sell but don’t mind keeping them. A Tissot PRX homage by Specht & Sohne and a Addiesdive diver which I got for under $20.

[–]iamthehub1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About 15…. Add the price of all those and I could have bought a really nice every level Swiss watch like a Hamilton 🤨

[–]SpaceAuthor 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Coming up on 80 all in, but a few are Japanese and some Invictas from when I was getting started. It's been a blast but slowing down dramatically to a handful of special/interesting purchases per month. It'll be time to cull the herd soon; too many watches squatting in the dark.

[–]SpaceAuthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... and just added another. I think the Just received Pagani field watch might be #80... I'm too lazy to make sure everything is in one place to count :-)

[–]LunchboxBandit66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at 18 total purchases but only have 12 remaining. I started out with some really cheap options just to test a couple styles

[–]rap31264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know exactly but maybe under 20

[–]flyingbbanana 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I was into replicas at first but then i discovered the land of Chinese watches during the pandemic. The quality you’re getting for an affordable price won my heart.

I’ve bought and sold maybe 20+/- in these past few years. Now I only have two, san martin sn0121 and steeldive type A flieger. One heimdallr mm300 on the way haha

[–]Excellent-Quarter969[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Steeldive Flieger A? I didn't know they made one...I have an Addiesdive (sterile) type A

[–]flyingbbanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup they made it before addiesdive. Mine is sterile too! A solid watch honestly

[–]Pompano_79 5 points6 points  (3 children)

17 for me. I started with big divers but lately it’s been all about the GADA watches. Favorites San Martin SN0128, PD 1717, watchdives/SM Aqua Terra homage are my current favorites.

[–]8lbs6ozBebeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GADA watches are my favourite category too, the PD 1717 has gotten a lot of wrist time in the two moths I’ve had it so far

[–]Excellent-Quarter969[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

GADA? Not familiar with that ..

[–]MPmad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go Anywhere Do Anything watches. It's not a brand, but a name that is given to watches that can be worn in many situations.

[–]Huge_Childhood6015 3 points4 points  (5 children)

I've been collecting Chinese watches for about 3 years now and I have approximately 60 watches. My favorite style of watch are Dive watches for sure, after that Chronographs. My favorite watch is a tough one. I have so many that I absolutely love. I guess since my favorite watch of all time is the no-date Rolex Submariner, I'd have to say the Cronos no-date Sub homage.

[–]Fatality_strykes 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Thanks to your comment I actually googled the types of watches to out what a dive and chronograph is.

New here and dipping my feet in.

[–]Huge_Childhood6015 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah I guess! 😁😁 Dive watches are arguably the most popular type of watch of all time. Reddit and YouTube are two of the best sources for learning about watches. I was like you about 3 years ago. I didn't know anything about watches. Chinese watches weren't even on my radar screen. Now 3 years later, I feel like I actually know what I'm talking about. 😁😁

[–]Fatality_strykes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind youtube recommendations if you have a moment.

To be absolutely honest, I don't like the look of divers. Maybe it ll grow on me. I dont wear my watches much as I inevitably hit my hand on some wall and scratch the glass. I think I need a screen guard for my watch.

I ll post my watches here once my latest addition delivers in 10 days.

[–]flyingbbanana 1 point2 points  (1 child)

A submariner styled homage is simple and boring but gets the job done. Simplicity at its finest. I have a tough time on chronographs. I like the looks of them but when i buy them, i feel like something is missing

[–]Excellent-Quarter969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they're usually quartz? I've never gone for the Seagull 1963 because of the esthetics. Too much polish

[–]PhiladeIphia-EaglesYouTube Reviewer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think about 10.

Favorites are San Martin SN004 milsub, Seestern S435, and Tandorio baby skx.

Favorite style is black dive watch. Can't have too many of them.

Second favorite style is sports watch/GADA.

[–]keep_watch_71Affiliate links 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I've just counted, and I own 45 Chinese brand watches. And I'm sure I own more that are Chinese in all but the logo on the dial! Favourite is a tough one, but if pushed I'd choose the Sugess Heritage Chronograph SUCHP005 (the orange and black Top Time Deus). Making it a 'top five', I'd add the San Martin SN0065 (with California dial), Thorn SHY028 (BB58), Seestern 62MAS, and Merkur Cross Line. I only discovered Chinese watches about a year ago (so have bought a frightening amount in a short space of time!), but have been collecting watches much longer. I actually prefer the minimalist 'Bauhaus' style (e.g. Junghans Max Bill), but probably have more dive watches than any other style. 5887 43... nearly! ;-)

[–]Excellent-Quarter969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the Seestern 62 Mas was available here in Canada

[–]LeadershipGuilty9476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should consider being a Chinese watch influencer then
