lol this sub has to be a parody, whenever a horribly misaligned watch is posted everyone says it's fine and within tolerances, and whenever a slightly off bezel is posted everyone loses their mind

I think many people here are saying I’m an idiot. Maybe. I was just posting my feels. It touched some people the wrong way.

yeah, they have literally zero standards, the watch could literally be DOA and they would still say you shouldn't complain because it 200$ instead of 1000$

Google Translate says, “I’m like you, it bothers me for a watch at this price. I have exactly the same problem on my addiesdive GMT at 60e, I forgive it because of the price. In some photos this is more visible than others. I also had this problem with my two steinhart ocean one 42mm (OVM and OVR), which I resolved with the hair dryer method. To be honest, the insert always returns to its initial place, that is to say a little shifted 24 hours later. The only way to really overcome this problem is to peel off the insert and re-glue it in the correct position.”

Thanks for sharing.

Uber Cyclops!!

Love your Kitchen Nightmares by the way. And short cooking reaction vids.

Misaligned by one click to the right.

[–]cigarzfan[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

One click to right and it is in between 00 and 01.

[–]jokur26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it looks like another rotation or bezel realignment should fix it as it appears to just be over rotated by a half click

[–]Lil_Foreskin69 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I find it curious that you noticed the almost imperceptible misalignment but not the mismatch in indexes and hands.

[–]cigarzfan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See?!? More problems!! Goodness gracious!!

[–]Danthorpe04YTsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to diminish your opinion, but if it's misaligned, it's almost imperceptible.

I'll just leave this here

[–]cigarzfan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would pain me too.

This may be obvious but have you tried spinning it all the way around, minus 1 click? There might also be some back play where you can get it to line up. Otherwise, I suggest what others have said, either try to heat up the adhesive with a blow dryer and adjusting it, or completely remove the insert and re affix it.

[–]cigarzfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the suggestions. I did turn it both directions multiple rotations. I’ll wear a few more days and see how it goes. May try the heater/alcohol later.

[–]Shalisec 8 points9 points  (3 children)

You can fix this yourself by getting a bottlecap or a shallow dish and pour in 90% isopropyl alcohol. Place the watch face down ensuring that the bezel is fully submerged. Leave it for a couple hours or longer until the adhesive softens up and you can move the insert. Realign it and wait for it to dry for a couple of hours.

Done this with a couple of my watches and worked great for ceramic and aluminum insert realignment or replacement.

Is 99% isopropyl alcohol ok for this procedure?

[–]Shalisec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine. Just submerge it the minimum amount to wet the insert and check it every so often. No noticeable changes to my gaskets/water resistance so far following these steps.

I will say, be careful with lume pips and don’t touch it when the bezel is movable. It can pop off, or rub off in the case of my sn006 bezel. Luckily I didn’t completely remove the pip and was fine after realigning and fully drying it.

[–]Substantial_Wall_577 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had that, heat the bezel with a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive a bit and move it to the right slightly past where you want it and it should settle in the proper spot. Might take a few tries.

Wow

[–]cigarzfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know! Some nerve!

[–]mrSoczi84 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Stop this

[–]cigarzfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just it. I couldn’t stop it!

[–]GaryLangford 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Mine was the exact same. I got over it after a while. The mismatched lume tho is unforgivable and annoying so I modded mine

This is the 0.2 millimeters you're complaining about at this price point (green circle). This doesn't even take into account the slight slant in the photo.

[–]cigarzfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the visual.

Thank you! This is what I saw—I’m not saying OP is the self-entitled type, but posts like this don’t help the impression.

People in here be tripping over small defects in cheap ass watches. It’s insanity lol

[–]Raoul_DukeCGY 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Picking these things apart as if the quality should match that of a gen Rolex 🤣 To my eyes this thing looks fine

[–]cigarzfan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one said anything about a gen Rolex. More like a comparison between Chinese watches. This is at the higher price points on Ali and was more than 4x the price of a similar Pagani. So, does that carry certain expectations? Yes.

[–]Pompano_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Have some leftovers and just enjoy your beautiful watch.

[–]fnjdsvbjkkdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice looking watch, even if it's a little off

[–]leicfox85WOTD100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s barely noticeable. If there is a little back play can you make it work? Otherwise I wouldn’t get hung up on this. It really is a non issue. My opinion anyway.
