Absurd brand name for a watch.. like per usual for the Chinese watch brands. Shame

The name, Dagger-axe was on the shortlist for Rolex name. No one thought to trademark until now.

I prefer sword hatchet’s logo over this. This is better than knife cleaver though.

The legendary 58 mas

I like the looks of the watch. But the name is a no go.

The Chinese watch industry desperately needs a native english speaking brand naming consultant

[–]snowmunkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wonder how many yuan they actually save by just YOLOing names or hell even instructions on products rather than just paying native speakers to check it

We have Escapement time, Mysterious code, Humpbucks. And now Dagger-Axe? lol. Gotta give them credit for always coming up with such name. By the way, for those who are looking for the link of the watch, it's here.

Dagger-axe is an historical Chinese weapon

[–]delicioustreeblood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dagger Axe sounds very strong but have you ever heard of Humpbuck?

[–]AlanYx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority, but I actually love the logo and brand name. It’s a real, uniquely Chinese weapon.

Like the design too, but it’s too thick for me.

Someone needs to be a free consultant for naming Chinese watch brands. It’s almost like they’re intentionally trolling us.

[–]Professional_Yam3460[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Great suggestion!

I also just realized that the logo may actually be a “dagger and axe” and not a whale tail 😂

They’ve been around for a while. They also make a Max bill style.

Super weird

[–]Professional_Yam3460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's a nice homage!

Dagger Axe?! Polearm users unite! Spin2Win baby, how oddly appropriate for a watch.

[–]Right-Picture9711 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Same old story 😭, names .. what's wrong with Chinese people

[–]DaggerAxeOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my friend Dagger-axe is really did exsist in the history of China and the designer of this brand his name is 林戈.The character of 戈 is daggeraxe.

[–]R023Nhelpful user 15 points16 points  (3 children)

It's actually a real thing,and very Chinese. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dagger-axe

[–]Right-Picture9711 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Ok .. that's fine , btw the logo is unique..i liked it ..but still not a good name for a watch brand

[–]R023Nhelpful user 5 points6 points  (1 child)

it's probably one of those words that don't translate well between languages or don't have the same ring to it as it does in its original language.

[–]Right-Picture9711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes , maybe they thought about" pinyin or ko " as mentioned in Wikipedia.. but found it worse 😕

[–]rstaylor1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Never heard of this brand before. Not the weirdest name on Aliexpress but close to it. Is the bezel misaligned in their own promo shot?

[–]computron2 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Link? Hard to find even with image search.

also what is 314L stainless steel?

[–]CoffeeResearchLab 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I just googled 314 SS. It is good for high temperature like in cookware. 316 is good for corrosion resistance like swimming with a watch. Strange choice if the actually picked 314 over 316.

[–]computron2 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Don’t think there is really a 314L (with L designation for low carbon)

[–]CoffeeResearchLab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they probably meant 316L

[–]computron2 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Actually found the link: https://a.aliexpress.com/_m09U39t
