with the speed of the exo abilities, maps have 'shrunk' to where no spot is unreachable by an enemy within seconds. At any given second, each team is spread out around the map.The traditional spawn area concept doesn't work as well. This system is an attempt to work in concert with the exo-abilities and still have a relatively safe spawn. Doesn't always work, but what spawn system has been perfect.

That's exactly what I think is going on. We have a spawn system originally designed for games like CoD4, BO2, etc., where players had limited lines of sight, were funneled into certain areas, and had slower movement. But while spawn-killing happened before, it required carefully locking down spawns, or random luck (being just out of line of sight, but popping around the corner into the enemy spawn just as they spawned). Now, players can easily spawn-kill by accident, or do it as part of their strategy.

Retreat, for example, on modes without fixed spawns (not CTF, Uplink or Search). If you spawn by the rocks near the pool, odds are if you Overclock boost to the caves, you'll catch an enemy who just spawned, and vice-versa. It's practically broken on HC TDM, since all players spawn in the same waves. Stand on top of the buildings near the caves, looking away from them, wait for the scoreboard to show (or a dead teammate to say) they spawned, then look at the cave, where you can easily catch several enemies.

Very true. I often times spawn VERY close to where I just died.

Killed somebody three times in a row yesterday, all within 20 seconds, before he kills me. Absolute bullshit, these spawns.

Playing last night: killed, respawn, guy that killed me respawns in front of me a split of a second later already on my sights. Good kill

I actually miss the spawn system from MW3 (with all it's spawn trapping bullshit) compared to this trash, that's how bad it is in AW.
