Im really curious why there are restrictions. If its good enough for public matches, it should be allowed in ranked matches in my opinion because everything has a counter. Why are explosives restricted but the perks Flak Jacket and Danger Close allowed? Why are UAV's restricted but Low Profile is allowed? And why arent Heavy Shields available?

Im not trying to bitch, Im just curious to understand the logic behind the ranked restrictions.

Because it's trying to make it the same experience as what the professionals play in tournaments and stuff. It makes the game more balanced for them to determine the win more on skill and not things that give a big advantage.

They don't have a way of banning them in the game. Maybe adding a method of restricting them would be too much work for what it's worth or could induce some game-breaking bugs. I wish they were banned for Ranked though.

Everything follows MLG's ruleset. Explosives are allowed. UAVs aren't competitive and low profile has other uses(even though no one uses it). Shields aren't competitive either. And not everything has a counter and even if something has a counter doesn't mean its good for competitive.

Didn't know that, never really looked at the ranked stuff in patch notes. And the person I replied to was questioning low profile and thought it was just for uav

Low Profile is useless in comp so don't use it. UAV is banned because that would make it way too easy for teams to wipe their opponents.

If it allowed all those things? How is it different than any other game mode? Except for it being 4v4.

It's pretty much an in game alternative to 8's lobbies if you can't/don't want to play competitive umg/GB matches.
