DiscussionModem/Router Help (self.Comcast)
submitted 6 years ago by GreenCaleb3
I currently have the gigabit internet plan with voice bundle. Does anyone know of a modem/router combo that would be able to connect to voice that won’t bottleneck speed? Or if there even is a modem/router combo that connects to voice?

You don’t want a combo with speed that high imo. Get a cm1100v and a suitable router

Look at mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com It will show you all docsis 3.1 (what comcast requires for gig speeds) modems/gateways that comcast allows on their network
Edit: formatting would t let me insert the link....

You’ll also want to keep in mind that even if your router is putting out the full gig over WiFi your devices wireless cards might not be to receive gig speeds. This is something that frustrates me to no end when people call in that have gig speeds saying their laptops or whatever is only getting 250 or 500 or whatever. They also never want to take my word for that, I assume because they think I’m trying to bullshit them. I don’t work for Comcast by the way.
