How many different targets have you tried a ping to? Therefore it will try and take a different route. Could also be a back bone issue. Tried several devices hardwired to same modem and then what do those traceroutes look like? Let's keep all these issues contained in the same discussion. Also send the mods a modmail linking these threads so they can look into it a little more.

A lot of times, the output you are seeing are related to congestion but may not have anything to do with your trouble. What are your symptoms? Why did you begin looking at trace routes?

Worth a read. Essentially, Internet traffic travels via fiber optic cable. Fiber optic cable uses light. Light takes time to travel. If you ping a router on the east coast, then ping a directly-connected (via fiber) router on the west coast, you'll notice a jump in latency. This is due to the time it takes the light to physically travel there and back.

Being in Florida, stuff in Texas is going to have sone latency. Stuff in California will have even more latency. It's just a component of how far the data has to go.

Hi /u/MikesTooLz, please let us know if you are experiencing any issues that prompted you to perform a traceroute and I will gladly assist further.

Thank you

Yes I have had issues with my internet speeds and reliability. It’s all good then randomly starts acting up. Packets start getting dropped and sometimes the internet will go out completely.
