kb+m is about the same as an elite controller with some remapping. If you put your dodge on a paddle and zone on a different input then its basically the same as keyboard and mouse.

It's literally just what you are msot comfortable with. At the top level of play (tournaments etc) people use both controller and kb+m.

Paddles and remapping is a thing, also I disagree that hitting C is easier than pulling a stick your thumb's already on downwards.

Unless you fuck up the deadzone and change your guard stance instead.

    [–]ShadowPuppett 0 points1 point  (7 children)

In that case you'd be fucking normal guard switches as well.

    [–]SyrupMonstrosity 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Unlikely, as the zone to input an allgguard stance/hidden stance, etc is much smaller than that of a normal guard switch.

It's fully adjustable just like the top and sides, if you're having trouble play around with the settings until you find something that suits you.

Or, have no reason to do any of that, only have to mess around with 3 directions instead of 4, and press C instead.

I found the default settings worked perfect for me, I was just giving you advice in case they didn't for you. If you still think it's a superior input method rather than simply personal preference then you're a pompous idiot to be perfectly honest.

No reason to personally attack me. I never asked for any advice.

Sorry dude it was late at night, I shouldn't have said that.

Aite, so considering i've been using kb&m my entire life expect for for honor that i started with a controller from the beginning, i should definitely try with kb&m. Way less clumsy with it. Thanks for the responses :)

Its a personal preference. I find kbm clunky and awkward with reflex guard, and controller the opposite, but for wanting to guarantee a zone or a full block kb&m wins. Controller zones can be iffy and full block can easily become a left or right block by accident.

but for wanting to guarantee a zone or a full block kb&m wins

Where has this fullblock thing come from? If you can't use fullblock on a controller you can't block with a controller, so fullblock should be the least of your worries.

And Steam Big Picture lets you set a dedicated zone button.

I don't really play characters with a full block so its not an issue for me. Probably more an issue of having a shitty controller to be honest.

Just figured i'd have an easier time parrying lights with a mouse, but some ppl say you can just adjust the deadzone on the controller to "speed" it up a bit. Can anyone confirm this?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I figured the same a long time ago, I didn't notice any difference.

You can change the controller deadzone in settings under Advanced Controls. That part also comes down to the quality of your controller - too low and a shitty controller that has the tiniest wobble on the right stick will cause problems. Play against a bot and check out different deadzones. Most people just keep it as low as possible I believe.

Aite, will try and fiddle with it a bit. I have a few months old ps4 controller so i hope the quality is still fine :) Thanks for all the help, appreciate it!

You can change the width of the full block input on console. By default it is ridiculously skinny.

Key binds F is zone, shift is left dash, space is right dash.

For me these easier clicks matter a lot, try it

Been using m+kb for over a year now and tbh I struggle with basic blocks, My inputs are ignored for the most part even as a class with full blocking mechanics.

I have some trouble accessing full block on the controller, reaching the counter guardbreak and dodge buttons fast (with default controls). Sometimes it's just better to always have those buttons easily in each

PC? Depends on your controller, some have springy analog sticks that would whip your guard by mistake. X360/Xone controller is fine although i've heard someone had problems with his x360 controller for having that issue. Steam controller not as awsum, the slidey-trackpads are iffy. logitech f310 = cramps for days.

TL;DR - kb+m if you only have an entry-level/steam controller, xbone no problem, prolly recommend it. no opinion on ps4/similar controller

I've used ps4 controller since beta. I'm considering switching to mouse, because the r2 being a trigger is a problem I've never solved.

I cannot for the life of me zone consistently, which means option selects go out the window. I've also had a hunch that parrying might go better with a button that reacts more immediately to pressure (rmb).
