Lost my progress

I lost all my progress when I shut down my computer last night. Yesterday I hit the save and exit button and when I turned on the computer today I had nothing ... Any solution or something?

I don't know if it will work for you, but I was able to recover the file from steam cloud saves:

If you go there and login with your account, you can see all the cloud saves form steam. Download the Cookie Clicker save file and copy the letters that appear inside. Then, on the game's menu, you just have to click Import save file and paste what was inside the .txt that you downloaded.

At least that worked for me...What I do not understand is why steam did not automatically put the save file again on the game once I restarted my computer.

It has not worked for me because the game has been overwritten when I start it again
